Dear dogs4thewin. Our relationship with Jesus is what it says, we are related to our Saviour Jesus Christ. It is not a relationship like we have with our loved ones on Earth, it is a relationship with our Saviour, Jesus who died that we might live, Jesus vanquished our enemy on Golgotha, all Christians have chosen to belong to Jesus Christ our Saviour. In Matthew 22: 35-40: Jesus told a Lawyer: " The first and great Commandment is to Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: love thy neighbour as thyself. Christians have chosen Jesus as their Friend and Father.
Christians do as their Heavenly Father tells them, and all Christians are related.
I say this with love, Emily. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

God is holy and without sin.

When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, that sin put up a wall between them and God who is without sin and holy.

Throughout the old testament this wall remained and separated man from God.

The only thing that could atone for man's sin would be a perfect sacrifice. One who knew no sin (Jesus) that was given as a sacrifice for the sins of everyone.

Once Jesus had been crucified on the cross and died, he was that sacrifice. Through Jesus Christ there IS NO WALL between us and God anymore.

Each Christian that trusts in Jesus Christ, His Holy Spirit lives inside of them. That is God within us. That is what the wall broke down, that barrier.

Read Romans 5 and 6 to see how this happens.

I spent a year without Christ in my life, not really, anyways. It caused everything in the world to seem so hopeless and dark. I felt this void that I couldn't get rid of. My life was actually a lot better that year than all of my other years from elementary school through high school, but everything turned into ashes in my mouth. I'm not saying I'm constantly filled with joy or something, because I'm not. I'm perpetually depressed my whole life, but everything just seems brighter and life worth living with Christ in my life, and the void doesn't feel so painful.

Before I gave my life to Christ I was not happy with where I was in my faith. I didnt read the Bible as often as I do now and I didnt pray very often either.
Christ has given me another chance and I am taking it. I am doing my discipleship with my pastor and also going to bible study and prayer meetings.
The Holy Spirit does things that I never thought possible but it has renewed my life for Christ.

Dear dogs4thewin. In Matthew 22: 35-40: Jesus tells us: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: love thy neighbour as thyself." Jesus also tells us: " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
God is Love, and God wants loving sons and daughters. The Bible also tells us: " Repent and be Born Again," get rid of all selfish wishes and wants, and
start Loving and Caring for God and neighbour. ( neighbour being all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends) The relationship which God wants,
is between our Heavenly Father, and our Christian brothers and sisters.
In Matthew 7: 7-10: we are told: " Ask and you shall receive," we ask for Love and Joy, then we thank God and share all Love and Joy with each other.
Love is a Christian`s great weapon, with love we will overcome all enmity and anger. We keep asking and receiving Love and Joy, then we thank God and share all Love and Joy with our Heavenly Father and Christian brothers and sisters. We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on loving and caring. The Holy Spirit will help an guide us, and
Jesus our Saviour will be with us all the way: JESUS IS THE WAY.
All we say or do, all we advice or stand for, will be Love and Joy and Compassion for all of us, one great relationship.
I say this with love, dogs4thewin. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
