The Most Important thing to Prep first is ones own Soul! That your Soul will be at the death in the State of Grace, when you come before the Lord.

Compared to the Prep of your Soul, all other preps are really useless, I mean we are all going to die anyway and our Soul lives on wether in Heaven or in Hell. So lets prep our Souls First for the Lord! Amen Amen

Amen on that! Getting saved is paramount to having life.
Also, stay away from people who sell dehydrated water!! Even if it does store good. :sorry:
Are you suggesting the 500 tablets of water pills I bought will not expand to 8 oz of cool clear water?

Hey, where can I get some of that dehydrated water? I once bought 500 gallons but somebody at the post office must have stolen it because when I opened the package it just had dust in it. It sort of looked like lint and dust bunnies and a couple of pencil shavings. Then I bought another one but I was smarter that time. I only bought 250 gallons. But, yep. That person at the Post Office must'a got it again. So I called the Postmaster and he said he would look into it. I don't know why he hasn't called back yet?

You are in luck Brother. I just opened a business and started selling it. Being dehydrated It has an unlimited shelf life and all you do is add water.
We have a super survival sale going on now and you can save 10 percent on your first order. :]

Bless you. I was beginning to think our prepping efforts were in trouble. Ha Ha. But on a serious note. I tell folks that water weighs 8.34 lbs (3.8 kilos) per gallon. 100 web sites will give you about 90 different answers on what you should drink per day. Realistically but conservatively, at half a gallon per day for the adults and 1/3rd gallon per day for the children a family of 4 trying get away from a disaster area in Southeast Texas in August cannot carry enough water to get more than about 8 miles away. So it is better to consider hunkering down, preparing to catch and collect as much rain as you can, and try to avoid evaporation from your sweat as well as the containers. Stay in the shade, work at night, and have survival straws available for the most extreme emergencies. You can live without food much longer and better than you can without water.

The first thing in your back pack (actually last to put it on top) is a KJV Bible and beneath that a list of what is in that backpack. Then a book of edible plants and how to preserve meats naturally, and beneath that a book of root and herbal remedies and mountain medicines. Next is a kit with the absolutely essential medicines that were prescribed for life threatening illness or disease. (You may not need every medicine, just the most important such as Plavix or Warafrin to prevent clogged arteries.) A charcoal water filter for each person. A couple of filter masks for each person. A good carbon steel knife and a machete with sharpeners and a good set of small to medium cut files. (not cheap Chinese). A hacksaw with spare blades. A utility knife with spare blades. About a dozen fire starters. A good pair of medics shears. Several simple fishing kits with some lures and if you have room, a small casting reel with loose eyes and thread to make a casting pole later. Duct Tape, duct tape, and a little more duct tape and a couple of rolls of bailing wire. Curved Needles and threads. Several tubes of antibacterial ointment with pain killer or similar. And I do not jest about these. A couple of tubes with spare treatment ends of Preparation H and a bottle of laxatives. A large bottle of regular aspirin and several small boxes of Arm and Hammer for cleaning and antacid. (You can dissolve two aspirins in a cup of water then stir in a quarter teaspoon of Arm and Hammer to make a simile of Alka Seltzers.) Again, no kidding. As many tampons and pads as you can stuff in. (Tampons and pads are for bleeding injuries.) A package of disposable razors (to shave around wounds). Several bars of good, aggressive soap. A handful of high protein power bars. These items should be in one backpack and it should be stout with padded straps that are spread apart by about 6 inches near the shoulders with a cross strap or belt. A lot of these things can be found at Hobby Lobby and Tractor Supply stores. Keep in mind this is not the only backpack you want to carry. The next one I can fill in later.

The first thing to prepare is our heart which is actually our soul that becomes aware of the remarkable profound pure BEAUTY of YHWH, his only begotten Son Yeshua ha Mashiach, and the Ruach that is the Holy Spirit. Then by entering into the light as it says in John 3 our evil deeds can be exposed and only then can we be born again. Then daily when we err and when we work at crosspurposes to the Will of God, ask forgiveness. Nothing is more important.

We are saved by grace alone. Jesus says in Matthew 25 in the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats that the way we treat the "least of these" is the way we treat Jesus. If we fail, then we face eternal damnation for not being righteous.

Note that Matthew 25 begins with foolish virgins not preparing and wise virgins preparing. Did you know that producing light from oil is one of the most difficult things to do? To do so in any significant way requires fat from annual butchering of livestock and rendering to make usable candles. Otherwise annual harvesting of oil bearing plants like sesame or soybeans. A usable oil can be made from birchbark extraction by making charcoal. Dried cattails can be dipped into tallow to make a torch. Pray about that.

Trimming the wick was essential so the least amount of oil was used to produce the best light. That lesson is not just a metaphor as both had zeal but both were exhausted as the wait for Jesus (bridegroom) was so long.

Water is the next prep. Without water in a collapse people will start dying after three days. Under physical demand and when rationing, they die after five days. With zero demand and totally sedentary, people die at day ten.

That means at least having a shallow well point to get potable water and then building a deep well.

Many people suddenly without city water would die.

It is my contention that people have mistaken our ability to become citified as being equal with being blessed. There are third world countries of which the people are blessed by our God. City water and sewer does not a blessing make and you are right. Not preparing for a disaster and depending on the government is going to leave many bodies in many high rise buildings. Our Biblical teaching is all about being prepared for the worst. It has been proven that the world cycles from feast to famine. Just becasue we have been more able to cope doesn't mean we will survive. This Babylonian tower we built will collapse some day and those who prepared in the name of the Lord will be spared. There is nothing wrong with preparing as long as you don't make preparations your god. Thanks for your clear view and providing scriptural backing for what you believe.

Consider this. Say a disaster comes and it's an opportunity to live out the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats. Christian preppers could act in accordance with YHWH's Will and be humble and righteous and save lives. And then share the Gospel so Jesus saves their soul.

Even more so, let's say we are in the End Times. If we prepare and are raptured before the Tribulation, then those left behind can benefit from what we stored.

If we are raptured after the Tribulation but before the wrath (this is what I believe) then we can have enough so when the mark of the Beast is instituted our families won't go hungry. And we might be able to save many.

Consider this. Whatever we learn in terms of ancestral skills, then A Christian prepper might act unselfishly as a bondservant and lead people out of cities, or organize neighbrhoods in towns, or live quietly in rural areas but helping fleeing people.

Don't become a goat and lose your soul. Jesus says that if you give a cup of water to a child who is a believer, you WILL NOT lose your reward. You have to do at least that in terms of righteousness. We cannot earn salvation but faith without works is DEAD.

When people talk of their heart, they do not mean the pump organ for blood. They actually mean their soul. I just wanted to clarify as evangelism verses in the Bible discuss the heart being convicted and that is not the organ that pumps blood.

You can become very selfish and pervert the Gospel and justify "taking care of me and mine" but that is not sound doctrine. It violates Matthew 25. We are not called to be survivalists who kill others over scraps of bread and cups of water.

Have you read the "Left Behind" series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins? Not so much the movies with Kirk Cameron or the 2014 reboot starring Nicolas Cage. The books are not deeply intricate and follow a group of people after the rapture who are given a chance to redeem themselves but they must endure the end times calamity of the Global forces led by the anti-Christ. I am not endorsing them but we read them years ago and it shed some light to a pre-trib rapture and what can be expected afterwards if non-believers be given a second chance? These books find scriptural references to say, yes.

I don't know if most people are aware of it or not, but anyone who lives in a house has a stockpile of around 40 or 50 gallons in their home at all times. It's their water heater! All you need to do is shut off the main water shutoff to keep it from getting contaminated, open an upstairs faucet to relieve pressure, and then turn on the water release valve at the bottom of the heater. That should give you drinking water for quite some time.
