IT should be noted that the disciples including Paul maintained Torah and Temple service including the rituals and sacrifices until the temple was destroyed in 70 AD, almost 40 years after the resurrection of Messiah.

Thank you for your response, but if you don't mind, I would like to know your source for this.

We read in Hebrews 10:4-12:

"For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;" {emphasis added}

Why, knowing that the sacrifice of Christ was "once for all" would they do such a thing?

That only applies to sin offerings. So they could very well and most likely did continue with the other sacrifices. They could still continue with thank offerings, meal offerings, and praise offerings.

Look at Acts 20:26 where Paul offers a sacrifice.

Also, 24:17 where he talks about the sacrifice.

I think Katydid answered well.
It is the sin offerings and in particular the sin offering of the day of atonement that is the subject of this passage. Yeshua is our high priest and has entered the most holy place once for all with his own blood. All the blood of goats and lambs were substitutes looking forward to this final sacrifice.

If we go to the scriptures that show us the millennial Kingdom of Messiah, like the last chapters of Ezekiel we see all the feast days in operation and the sacrifices being made, with the one exception, Yom Kippur (the day of atonement). It is missing from the list. Now Ezekiel was from the priesthood, and would not have overlooked such an important thing. No, it is Gods purpose to no longer bring even the thought of our former sinful nature to rememberance. (And I shall remember their sins no more).

There are many other sacrifices that will take place such as the feast of Tabernacles, all nations will send their representatives to take part in this feast. Zech 14 It is not atonement for sin, but worship and fellowship. The sacrifices are roasted on the altar and are eaten there before the Lord. It is like a huge Texas B.B.Q. Before the lord. And this is how many of the offerings are used. They are consumed before the Lord. Eaten in fellowship.

As for Paul continuing in the temple worship and practices, you need only to read Acts to see that he does these things as I have listed above, he encourages the church in Cornnith in how to properly keep the feast of unleavened bread, which begin on Passover and how they must keep the passover with ourity, I Cor 5,, he enters a nazarite vow, and by his own testimony before the Sanhedrin and Agrippa and the others he says of himself that he has always been faithful to the customs and religious practices of his people, in every detail. That means he kept the Toah and the feast, fasts and sacrifices as required.

ZEC 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. [17] And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. [18] And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. [19] This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Lets look at what happen at this feast Okay?

LEV 23:33 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [34] Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD. [35] On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. [36] Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein. [37] These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day: [38] Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD. [39] Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. [40] And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days. [41] And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. [42] Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: [43] That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. [44] And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.

This will give you some good insights into the festival
