  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is a Creationist Forum, a section WITHIN the big tent of Christian Forums. This is a section for people who believe in Creation. No one should come in here and redefine Creation to mean evolution.

By CREATION I mean, and the normal understanding of the term in these forums is the instantaneous formation of things out of nothing, or making things by big leaps, like a man out of dust in ONE literal day, and a woman out of the rib of that man, on the same day. Creation means the earth bringing forth plant life, and animal life, the waters bringing forth living things, and birds of the air beginning to fly in the skies, quickly, in a week of time. This is what is meant by YEC, by Creationism.

NOW the topic of this thread is to be: What is the difference between OEC and TE and TOE? Don't you end up in the same place as TOE when you hold to OEC? Is not OEC simply using the term Creation with an new definition, in orwellian fashion making the concept of Evolution come under the term Creation? Does not OEC simply allow the Evolutionist to wrest our term from us and then assert that the millions and billions of years of gradualism are "God's method of Creation" making words and terms totally meaningless?

What is the difference between OEC and TE?

we still believe in a literal genesis we just believe that it wasnt just a twenty four hour day
So where does an indeterminate period, rather than a DAY take you besides the same end as TE? What is the difference between TE and OEC?

Evolutionist believe that we evolved from monkeys and we believe that we were created in one day just not one that is twenty four hours because hevane doesnt have time so one day is like a million years in heaven

I don't think this answered Floodnut's question. In other words, what does the extra time give you and/or why do you need it to fit into your creation model? It seems to me that the only logical reason would be for some version of the created kinds to evolve, hence Theistic Evolution.

My creation model is the 'YBC', Young Biological Creation, based on what I believe to be a literal interpretation of scripture. I.E. Old universe and old core elements of earth (Gen. 1:1); young final formation of earth to make it habitable and the creation of all the original biological kinds within a literal six day period just over 6,000 years ago. Most fossils being formed no earlier than 4600 ya. due to a global flood and subsequent unstable earth movements and mudflows.
Most of the worldviews that are out there take the question of the age of the earth to mean the formation of the earth and the biology happening together.
I think physical evidences point toward the answer that it's not ALL young or old. It really depends on what's being considered.
