Amos 5:

The day of the LORD was bad news for the unrighteous. Isaiah elaborated in Isa 2:

12 "For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
In the Hebrew Bible, the term often refers to apocalyptic war. The Lord is the divine warrior conquering Israel's enemies.

Isn't the day of the Lord good news?

Yes, 1 Thessalonians 5:

1Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
Paul was talking about Jesus' 2nd coming.

2 Corinthians 1:

14b on the day of our Lord Jesus you will boast of us as we will boast of you.
Isn't the day of the Lord good news?

It is good news to those who trust in the Lord. It is bad news to the wicked.

The above is a brief summary that I just found that might clarify a lot of confusion surrounding the “last days”

Logically one can easily discern the distinction between the “day of Christ” and the “day of the Lord”. The references in the Old Testament and even in the Gospel accounts refer to the coming of the Lord to judge the earth. But the “day of Christ" which was first taught by Paul -- the apostle sent specifically to the Gentiles after Jesus came unto His own and they received Him not -- preceeds the the "day of the Lord".

The "day of the Lord" found 1 Thessalonians 5 immediately follows six verses that teach the "day of Christ" — the rapture. The "day of Christ" is not when Jesus returns to the earth the second time. But rather, it’s the day when Jesus' meets His church in the air and we get to go home with Him to be with Jesus forever.
