What is the circle? The circle is a series of books written by Ted Dekker. This is a brief history of what happens in the books.
Black: After hitting his head and being knocked unconscious, Thomas finds himself waking up in a mysterious new world, were bats talk and the people follow a God named Elyon, and their religion is called the great Romance. He discovers that every time he falls asleep he is transported to the other reality. In the present earth where he was unconscious Thomas learns through his “Dreams” of the other world that a virus is about to be released by ist that will change the course of the earth, this virus will be called the “Raison Strain” after its creator Monique Raison. In his attempts to prevent the virus from being released, he inadvertently tells the ists exactly what they need to know to mutate Monique’s virus, and turn it into the ly Raison strain. There is one hitch, there is no antivirus! In the other reality Adam, has tasted the water of the Shaitaki, the evil bats of the black forest. This gives the Shaitaki the power to take control of the colored forest. Thomas, the woman he loves, Rachelle, and her little brother are the only survivors of the massacre that follows, and after fleeing through the desert, Elyon leads them to a forest with a lake In it. However the fruit and the water are not filled with the power that Elyon had given them in the colored forest. Thomas eats the rhambutan fruit, which keeps him from dreaming for fifteen years in the other reality, while hours pass in present time.
Red: In the second book, Thomas has turned into a mighty warrior. His bride wife Rachelle, and brother in law discovered people living in the forests, and have recreated the great romance with Thomas as their leader. However, the Diseased dessert dwellers, know as scabs, want to annihilate the forest dwellers, and wage war against the fierce Thomas of Hunter. Thomas remembers in the histories of things called , and sleeps without eating the rhambutan so that he might dream to learn to make the . In the present day A fierce attempt is being made by all the worlds governments to find a antivirus for the Raison strain. The ists have made there demands, and released the virus. As the line until the s start to occur, Thomas tries desperately to save Monique, who was kidnapped by the ists, she is the only one with the knowledge to make a antivirus. Thomas is captured and killed by the ists. In the dream reality, Thomas is healed by Elyons’ water. A peace has been made between the scabs, and the forest dwellers. A man named Justin will be killed by drowning in the water. It turns out this man is Elyon! After he is killed, all the forest people begin to turn to scabs, after realizing what has happened, and remembering Justin’s last words, “Follow me” Thomas rushes and drowns in the lakes red water, and finds that Justin gives him new life, free of the scab disease. Thomas and the few that followed him in the drowning rush to escape the scabs betrayal, and in the process, Thomas’ wife, Rachelle is killed.
White: In the final book Thomas and his band of “Albinos” as the scabs call them, are now leading a life of piece, trying to avoid being attacked by the horde. Thomas and a few others are captured by the horde, and Thomas is made a slave to the king’s daughter, Chelise. As he tries to teach Chelise how to read the books of history, Thomas begins to realize that he is falling in love, and that she is falling in love with him too. After a daring escape, Thomas releases his friends and makes there escape towards home. On his way back, they receive word that Chelise is going to be killed for treason if Thomas does not come back. Thomas goes back and kidnaps Chelise in order to save her. Later both Thomas and Chelise are caught again, and both are sentenced to by drowning. Thomas’ friends discover a pool of red water and drain it into the lake that Thomas will be drowned in. When Thomas and Chelise jump in, they drown willingly in the red water, and Justin saves them. Chelise is freed from the scab disease and transformed into an albino, the King allows Thomas and his daughter to go free after seeing they survived the drowning. In the present realities, the countdown is down to days, and no antivirus has been found. It is discovered that Thomas is free from the virus because of the healing powers from the dream world. Anyone that has come into contact with his is also virus free. In the end, Thomas makes the ultimate sacrifice and gives his to make an antivirus to save the world, but all of his must be taken. As Thomas dies in the present reality, he drowns in Justin’s red water in the dream reality, and is able to live, after dieing in the present reality. He and Chelise are married.
What happens now: After Thomas and Chelise are married; they had two children, Samuel the first born, and Rachelle, named in honor of his first wife. Twenty years have passed since Thomas and Chelise were married, and Samuel just turned twenty. No one has been able to “dream” and reach the histories, but Thomas has kept the legend alive. This RP follows the life of Samuel. You may create a new character that lives either in the Present Reality, or the circle reality, but they cannot cross over until a certain event happens, that I will explain later in the RP. Right now I will RP for Samuel, and as the story progresses I will write in “Events” that we will all have to adjust to. So please make a character, and jump in!
