Yea, I guess I could have added that to my understanding of it also. I thought Charismatics believed the same though.
Some Charismatics are pretty close to Pentecostals; some are not. Pentecostals are evolved (pardon the word) from the Pentecostalism of the early part of the 20th century. Charismatics are those who have found a common belief system (primarily re: spiritual giftings) but have, for the most part remained in more historic mainline and liturgical denominations. Those calling themselves Third Wave, Empowered Evangelical, or Post-Charismatic are those who have found that there is a closer link between Evangelical Christians and Pentecostals than once thought and who have reacted against the serial scandals that seem to plague modern high-visibility celebrity P/C preachers. :)

Pentecostals, in my view, are those who have observed the spiritual Feast of Pentecost, as represented in the New Covenant. There are a number of "differing" behaviors sometimes associated with Pentecostals, a lot of twitching, rolling, and shaking, etc. I've been in services where some were there and they behaved differently from everyone else. We all sat under the same anointing, but for some reason, they behaved differently.

I'm not judging anyone, but some of these things might keep your neighbors from visiting church. At the same time, all of the laughing worries some people too, and I'm quite sure God has used that. Not that people can't get in a ditch with anything, but your typical "charismatic" church has people who are filled and speak with tongues, but little or no behaviors an outsider might object to (at least now, who knows, God may surprise us all).

Haven't been to one like that in a very long time. When I was about 7 or so, my little brother and I went to an AG church a couple of times. I don't remember going back for about 10 years after my brother and I started mock announcing a horse race when people started running around the sanctuary. Those kinds of things did happen in a Baptist church I went to. Bapticostal I guess is what you call them. All of the AG churches I have been to since have been very similar to a contemporary Baptist service.
