It is not that the false prophecies have been poorly managed. It is because God did not send these prophets, nor has He spoken to them.
The point I was making that Balaam, being a total pagan who was employed to bring a curse divination on Israel, was encountered by the Lord to say exactly what He told him to say. This is an example of the Lord speaking through a pagan divination practitioner more effectively than the modern Word-Faith prophets. Actually what the donkey said to Balaam made more sense than any of the modern prophesiers on Youtube.
The problem these days is that it is very difficult to distinguish what comes from the Holy Spirit and what comes from the world, flesh or the devil. How does a person know where an impression or a thought comes from? I think that most who give prophecies do it from an educated guess given by "faith". Or is it a sort of optimistic hope that the prophetic word is of God? It is often a hit and miss affair, mainly miss. O.T. prophets were not permitted to make mistakes. It seems that modern ones do make mistakes and the Holy Spirit says, "better luck next time" or does He? If Balaam, a total pagan practising divination can receive the unmistakable voice of God, then you would think that modern professing Christian prophets would be able to receive it, wouldn't you?The point you was trying to make,.... whatever that was,... doesn't mean anything if we can't address why these things are happening.
Just creating a crusade to complain about what others are doing in the body of Christ is not really solving anything, we must understand why these people are doing what they are doing.
You asked what NT prophecy is according to Paul,....well the answer to that is "by The Holy Spirit." Anything that is not done by The Holy Spirit is that person doing it instead. This was the problem that Hananiah had in Jeremiah, he made a statement from himself and his thoughts and declared it was from GOD,....and the very same thing is still happening nowadays. It's not that these people are not born again as you mentioned in one of your posts, it's just that they are expounding on personal thoughts they have,... that happen to not be from GOD.
I don't think they realize what they are doing actually, and in my opinion, it will take a real prophet rising up in the power of GOD to expose them for what they are.

Exactly so the Church leaders they were accountable to failed miserably.
Hello Carl! I think the times we're living in are prophesied in the bible, 2 Timothy 3 and 2 Timothy 4. End times.
The deeper problem might be that there is no accountability in today's church and no desire for it. It's open season for wolves, cranks and deluded individuals to come in, promote themselves and tickle ears. Superficial popularity sits where discernment used to, feel-good over faith, those who know better aren't speaking up and blowing the trumpet. And we all know what the Lord says will happen to those who see the danger and yet refuse to blow the trumpet.
In Luke 6:26 Jesus said: Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.
God Bless
What is greater,... arguing and debating with a bunch of carnal Christians or watching GOD operate His power through you to perform great miracles?
Hello! I don't understand your dichotomy, can you please explain further. Thank you!
Jesus wasn't known as a prophet because of His words, it was the power of GOD operating that performed the miracles,.... that's how they knew He was the real thing.
Maybe if people raised their standard on what defined a prophet we wouldn't have so many issues.
The woman at the will perceived Jesus was a prophet because He disclosed her past !!!

I am cautious about that definition because we know Satan will mimic the miraculous.
Personally I believe we are safer to judge the authentic by evidence of Jesus Love and the fruit of the Spirit.
Some have already experienced the power of GOD and are not afraid.
Hey I am familiar and comfortable with experiencing the Power of God, that is not the issue.
The issue is that Scripture tells us to expect the counterfeit mimicking such events and this can happen within the Church. So many Churches seem ill-equipped to tell the difference.
Most of us that's been with The Lord a while should know the difference. The main problem in the body is that no one is reaching for the greater gifts, they seem happy and content.
I think a demonstration of GOD's power speaks much greater than trying to argue with carnal Christians.
Sure. But there are many people in Pentecostal circles making claims about miracles and power, spreading unverified reports, the demonstration is significantly less than the talk. There are those who like to lay hands on others and make pompous claims even though nothing seems to have happened. A carnal Christian would be one who makes claims that are less than accurate or makes prophecies that do not pan out. As the bible says: Only simpletons believe everything they’re told! The prudent carefully consider their steps. (Proverbs 14:15). IMHO an urgent need in the church is to nip this flow of falsehood in the bud. Righteousness and truth are the foundation of God's throne (Psalm 89:14) God Bless
Not necessarily wrong,......
But what are people going to respect,.... a bunch of words or GOD healing folks. People want to see GOD in action, they are not going to listen to words, no matter how truthful they may be.
Rebellion is also in the body of Christ somewhat,... .hence why I call them carnal Christians.
What is needed is a person who actually has the power of GOD flowing through them so folks can see the real thing for once,... then they will listen to you.
