We have many guests from overseas pop into the Aussie forum. And many people just watching us as guests. I wonder what our attraction is?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yeah...doesn't it. Like, when Paul Mecurio played Joseph in that Biblical film and all the rest were americans. They first words uttered by Paul were in the broadest Bondi beach Aussie accent I've ever heard. Quite strange coming from an Israelite too.
Nicole has to put the American accent on for her film a bit so I read. But, aha, you'd never get Hoges to change!!

Yeh I noticed that...
And this thread has become so popular that Droobie has decided to chip in.
I'm thinking maybe it's because we've discussed a lot of topics in this one thread, and it's helpful for people to know each other well enough and hence their deeper thoughts are revealed, ....my guess.....

I reckon your guess is correct Jim. We are an easy going people who just get along with others. Kinda lay back attitude with "She'll be right mate"Icystwolf said:

My Grandfather landed on Gallipolli, my Uncles went to WW11 as did my Dad.
So, I have no wish to EVER go outside Australia. But, I'm only one. Aussies have become such world travellers now Peter (Allen) wrote a song about it "I Still Call Australia Home"
And, the outback is so beutiful. The stars so bright. The Never-Never is something really special. It's a must for every Aussie to see before travelling overseas I reckon.
Proud to be an Aussie? You betcha!
