I don't follow Trump. So, Mueller and Rosenstein are Republican, however, Mueller didn't put a single Republican on his council? Isn't that rather odd? I'd say that is a red flag. It's weird. The president is ignoring one important fact: Robert S. Mueller III, who heads the team, is a longtime registered Republican. He was appointed by another Republican, Rod J. Rosenstein, whom Trump nominated as deputy attorney general. But publicly available voter registration information shows that 13 of the 17 members of Mueller's team have previously registered as Democrats, while four had no affiliation or their affiliation could not be found.

Donald is going to keep on whining that things aren't fair just like how a little kid not getting what he wants throws a big fat temper tantrum. The Mueller investigation has lead to Trump's personal attorney pleading guilty for crimes Donald commissioned. It's lead to the indictments of 19 folks, 3 companies, has amassed 5 guilty pleas.

Not to mention that Mueller is not the only one investigating Donald. Nearly every single organization he has led is currently under investigation. He's the focus of 6 investigations, plus civil suits. He's got a long history of cheating folks.

You know, I don't think people should be pressured into not having lawyers present for interviews. I think we should have a law that prevents that. But I've seen plenty of recorded police interviews where the police do just that. If those folks can be bullied, why should Flynn be a special case? I think ideally we should have a law mandating an attorney be present for all interviews.

Yeah I feel a whole heck of a lot more sorry for the Central Park Five who were young & scared. Don't feel one bit of sorry for Flynn, grown man who surely can handle himself a heck of a lot better than most folks in that spot.

Mr Mueller appointed those who he felt were most qualified to do the job. It's only weird if you view every government function through a partisan lens.

Why would it be a red flag? Are you claiming that people are unable to do their job if the have a particular political bent?

I'm confused, particularly since this thread was started today based on a news article from several days ago. To answer the OPs question: "What is Mueller trying to hide?", the answer is simple -- nothing.

Actually, from the various court filings against a number of Trump campaign and administration officials, he is working to hide things which are sensitive to national security. After all, the reported collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials is part of a sensitive counterintelligence investigation where a candidate and his team were trying to get information on an opponent from foreign nationals, and there are obviously sources of information on that sort of thing which are a bit sensitive.

And probably some info he doesn't want other subjects of the investigation to know he has yet - that's to keep people like Individual 1 from knowing the full extent of the case against them until he's finished with it. I mean, there have been some hints - money laundering with Russians as part of the inauguration and so on - but not letting on to the full amount of evidence the investigation has just makes it easier for people being investigated to trip up and lie to law enforcement. Say, for example, in a "Verily Easy" written set of answers to the special prosecutor.

But neither of these facts seem to be things that I'd want to make a big deal of if I was trying to spin this for Trump. Not sure what the point is here, but it kinda feels like an own goal to keep bringing up how seriously questionable the actions of Individual 1 and his family were.

Mueller is competent. You've got Trump whining all the time about leaks from his administration. Well no duh. Trump's White House has the worst staff turnover in history, it's about as leak proof as a torn old oversized diaper. Mueller's investigation doesn't have that problem.

One can hide something about one's political allies while having nothing at all about one's political enemies. I am sure it is a common occurrence as I would expect that one usually knows what one's political allies are hiding when they want one to help them hide it and one usually doesn't know what one's political enemies do not want one to know as they are unlikely to seek out ones help but go to great lengths to keep one in the dark.

What the judge is looking for, happened before mueller got involved and that strozk dude acted under direction of comey.

I think mueller is legit and his investigation is legit. I also think, there is a good chance, the fbi overstepped their bounds before mueller got involved. The natural reaction is to cover it up, which is basically what you are seeing.
