Can someone give me a better defintion than what I have in my head, about what Kama Sutra really is?
Is it just lovemaking techniques, or does it get much, much deeper than that?  And is it demonic, period? Even if married couples try it and/or they are Christian?

Thanks ^_^

It is a sex manual, written by a man. It is not compatable with Christian moral standards, but it does contain some useful information on sex. Some people can cope with it, others see it as indecent.

It provided a contrast between medaevil Chirstian views that sex was for procreation by adopting a sex as pleasure stance.

The name is enough to tell you to keep away from it, it's erotica love. You are a Christian, not a Hindu.

Kama Sutra, is an ancient Indian text on human sexual behavior, widely considered to be the standard work on love in Sanskrit literature. The text was composed by Vatsyayana, as a brief summary of various earlier works belonging to a tradition known generically as Kama Shastra. Kama is literally desire. Sutra signifies a thread, or discourse threaded on a series of aphorisms. Sutra was a standard term for a technical text, thus also the Yogasutram of Patanjali. The text is originally known as Vatsyayana Kamasutram ("Vatsyayana's Aphorisms on Love"). Tradition holds that the author was a celibate scholar. He is believed to have lived sometime between the 1st to 6th centuries C.E., probably during the great cultural flowering of the Gupta period.

Yep sex is a great gift, but the poster of thread wanted to know about a certain Hindu practice.

I believe that sex and love is such, but erotic sex can lead some into another direction that is not of God, and the gift of sexual love.

If a Christian wrote a book on how to achieve ultimate sexual fullfilment from different positions and techniques (with your mairriage partner of course) would it be wrong? Would Christians even buy it?

Too bad someone wouldn't do this. Then maybe there wouldn't be so many uptight Christians in the church. Maybe some of the fighting and back-stabbing and gossiping would disappear!

Hmm. . . . I've been looking for something to do in my spare time and I like writing. Maybe we're on to something here LOL!

Interesting topic. It'll be interesting to see where this one goes.

I think it would be wrong because Christians are supposed to live in the Spirit, not for fleshly desires. If we had nothing else to do then it might be OK, but the Church has got a huge responsibility and mission on its hands so no one should waste their time telling others how to increase their pleasure in the bedroom. Just think what else they could be doing with all that time. If they loved others as themselves, wouldn't they be doing everything they could to get others saved, as if they themselves had an uncleansed soul? That would be my reaction. I wouldn't buy it, so as to not encourage others to do that.

There have been lots of books by Christians for Christians on sexual expression within marriage. For example, this one looks very good (though it's new to me):

http://www.amazon.com/Celebration-Sex-Enjoying-Sexual-Intimacy/dp/0785264671

and there are other links on that page.

Sex is God's idea, of course, and we don't need Kama Sutra to link it (and us) to Hindu gods or make it a practice in gynmastics.

its the very same question you ask when you say, ok if it works for other people then it must be ok for me.

some times thats bad things like gypies or mongaliods or fat dxyalks freaks like myself and hitlers solution or some times its good things like personal sacrifice or helping to bring about a better world by helping to create a less harmful environment for the world to exist in

or dwarfs (midgets)

*2nd edit* ^^ and there my friends lie the dangers of drink, i have absoluty no idea what is supposed to mean and to be honest i was quite shocked when i read it. i should listen to my own advice, as i have told someone else today, "be humble and exhalted rather than the other way around". im sorry i must have really wanted to shock, but at l;east you can see what an idiot i can be at times
