When God speaks to you?

I know he doesn't speak to your MIND, but to your heart.

Personally I don't THINK I've had this happen yet. But possibly I have, if I know what it means to have him speak to your heart.

I'm just curious, is it like when you get a gut feeling you either should or SHOULDN'T do something?

Or does he speak to your heart, and you hear it? I'm confused as to how this plays out

Hi there! I'm new to the forums but definitely not my faith, it's been some part of my life for as long as I can remember. Within the past 2 years my faith has been significantly changed and stregthened, I believe this is because I finally saw God speaking to me. My turning point is when I really said an honest prayer to god and gave in. I'm used to always having to do things myself and I think that really blinded me to what the lord had been saying to me for a long time. I'm not sure if that day has come for you yet but all I can say is that you will know it in your heart of hearts and your soul, when that happens you will have new eyes and will look back upon certain things in your life and clearly be able to see the signs god was giving you. From then on you won't have a doubt...the best way I can describe it is a feeling in my heart and soul, but sometimes it's just knowing...there's no description you just know.

Well, I know that the Holy Spirit is called the Master Communicator. He has plenty of ways to comminicate to us. I remember once, seconds before I would have died in an accident, that God spoke to me in a crystal clear voice. He stepped in and saved me from certain death.

The thing is, you'll know in your heart. And nothing prevents you from asking to hear Him clearly.

God has many ways os speaking to us - the Bible says that 'My sheep will know My voice."

When you are reading the Bible and maybe a certain Scripture jumps out at you - that is God tapping you on the shoulder saying 'I'm talking to you."

When you are just walking along thinking - a certain thought hits you very clearly - this is the Holy Spirit saying do this or do that.

When a though comes to your mind that you know would not be your thought - that is the Holy Spirit saying - hear this.

If you feel something that you think is a 'gut feeling' this is God speaking.

Sometimes dreams or visions come to you that will bring something clearly from God, but you will know when a dream is of God and not just bad food before bedtime.

Remember the Bible says the HOly Spirit is always with us, a very portion of the Spirit of Jesus - it is not they He speaks to you sometimes, but He is always there. Sometimes the pressures of the world drown out the leading, but you will learn when it is the Holy Spirit speaking and when it is just your thoughts of the thoughts of the enemy trying to deceive you.

Just talk to God, Pray to Jesus - He tells us He is your friend that sticks closer than a brother - He is always there.
