Jesus says we are not to hate. Sometimes I hear believers say things like, "I don't hate him, but I really really dislike him." Generally I think that's just a dodge. So how do we know if we hate someone? Here are some diagnostic questions I came up with:
1. Would you be happy to see them suffer?
2. Would you be happy to watch them be humiliated?
3. If you knew you could get away with it, would you murder them?
4. If you had the opportunity to save their life, would you refuse?
Do agree with these diagnostic questions? Would you posit others?
