i've been praying for help for more than a year. every time i sin(drink, porn, etc.) i don't feel good, my morale drops. i'm at the point where i don't feel like i deserve love. then i go to these sites and get some comfort. i feel better, but then something makes me go back to sin. i've been going through this cycle for more than a year. what is god putting me through? i DO love him, but where is help.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. I'm sorry it's so hard. I know how easy it is to get trapped in that cycle, but please try to remember that as soon as you come back to God he not only forgives you, but he takes away the sin and makes you righteous again.
There is a site here which may help.. it's a group of Christians who struggle with sexual sin, and provide support and accountability for one another. It helped me a great deal, I hope it does the same for you.

Surprise! There's a bright side to your situation. You are learning an important lesson that many Christians don't seem to: you cannot conquer sin by your own efforts.
Even Saint Paul, (hardly your average Christian), wrote (paraphrasing the KJV): "The good I would do, I do not do; the evil I would not do, I do."
God is not so much concerned that you win as that you keep fighting! The real battle against sin has already been won - on a cross!

Third => change your username on this forum! 'I am loosing my battle' does not give you a lot of self confidence. God would want you to be standing up stronger against your enemy. I would suggest: 'LovedbyGod' if that was still available..
Try to block any harmful pages off your computer. Even when you might have the power to unblock them again it may just be a reminder to 'switch off' from those influences. Maybe set this CF page as your startpage when you start up the internet. Talk to us instead.
As for the drinking. If it does get problematic, get help. You are very aware now. It can go downhil quickly so mind yourself.
Finally, only you know what the issues are that lead you to this kind of behaviour. Search your heart and invite God to help you.
