Another confirmation of the future tense in the translation of the Name as "He who will be" is the use of ehyeh in it's immediate context "Certainly I will be with thee" Exodus 3:12 and this is the same word used in Exodus 3:14 "I will be who I will be". God's name was given to teach of his covenant purpose to bring Israel out of Egypt to become his own people and to bring them into the land of promise. This deliverance, salvation and temporary residence in the land was accomplished through Moses, Aaron and Joshua and God's wisdom and power administered through his angel, in whom was God's name Exodus 23:21.

These roles were combined in a greater and more full way when God's name was incorporated in name of Jesus. A similar purpose is involved, to rescue people from their sins, to make them his people and to bring them into the inheritance promised to Abraham and his seed Galatians 3:16,26-29. The name Jesus shows that God will become salvation in and through His Son Matthew 1:21, Luke 1:31-33. Salvation is now offered through faith in Jesus' name Acts 3:6,16, 4:10,12. God the Father is the Saviour through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, that is "He will be saviour".

The name of God is also associated with his character, and this character was also revealed through the Son of God.
Exodus 34:5-7 (KJV): "5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. 6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation."

John 1:14 (KJV): "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
Kind regards

Psalms 113
1 Praise ye the LORD [Yahweh]. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD [YHWH], praise the name of the LORD [YHWH].
2 Blessed be the name of the LORD [YHWH] from this time forth and for evermore.
3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S [YHWH] name is to be praised.
4 The LORD [YHWH] is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like unto the LORD [YHWH] our God, who dwelleth on high,
6 Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!
7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
8 That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD [YHWH].
