This is an awesome book written in the late 70's by Rabi Maharaj and Dave Hunt. He was saved out of a high caste Brahman family (father was an indian mystic yogi who was many years in a catatonic state) He was supposed to follow in his fathers footsteps but got saved instead. If you can find it read it you will not regret it.

I am reading a history of the Jewish people. It is called JEWS GOD and HISTORY by Max I. Dimont. I have just started it but I think it will be interesting. My sister gave it to me 2 years ago and I am just now getting around to it. It is paperback abouut 500 pages. My Jewish frieind is reading a much larger hard cover copy of on a similar theme but it is by a Christian author (which I thought was good). This one isn't but has lots of consulting with Christian sources. Jan

I'm still on my diet of light(ish) fiction, as a relief from more serious studying. I did re-acquaint myself with Mr Darcy by reading Pride and Prejudice again, and understood some of the subtleties better this time as I had researched the Regency period to some extent beforehand. I am a great fan of Georgette Heyer, who sets many of her novels in that period although she wrote over a hundred years later. I recently read "These Old Shades", which is set in the mid 18th-century, and is very romantic, in an innocent way, although I was less keen on the main character seeking revenge on an enemy. I am now re-reading A Quiet Gentleman, which is a Regency romance with elements of a "whodunit", also by Georgette Heyer, and I have another Laura Childs waiting to be read, and hope to find that her books are suitable for a Christian to read. They seem to be clean and wholesome, and I enjoy reading about the area. They are set in Charleston, South Carolina.

Sunmessenger.. Me too, you gave me a laugh,

Last book I read, God's Favourite House: by Tommy Tenny, basically he asks , do we remember a home that brought warm loving memories and shares thoughts on God's House and the kind of home he may be missing.

On the Anvil by Max Lucado. The work of the blacksmith analogy- as we are in the Masters Hands.

Messy Spirituality by Michael Yaconelli, ( God's annoying love for Imperfect people)

They Looked for a city by Lydia Buksbazen. A family in Russian Poland caught in the war. True story and they worked with The friends of Israel Gospel Ministry.

But..I have a soft corner of my heart for Corrie Ten Boom's writings.

Oh! and light relief comes from the humour threads here!

I have read authors, such as

Edgar Allen Poe
Longfellow
William Shakespeare
Denis Wheatley
Daniel Defoe

and many others
[for example]
a number-of, the very many contributors to the Bible

I admit to finding Jung and Freud to be a right stomach-full/ a difficult CHEW

Nowadays, I no longer have, the time 'to spare' to read books :)

I do, however,
enjoy to read the expressed opinions of, MANY 'others'
for in this way
I ensure that the information I acquire is the beliefs, of, the-many
as-compared with the mind of, one at a time...
for as long as it takes to close the book [?]

The Lord has blessed me so-much
that, I don't 'very-often'
have need of, a dictionary/ thesaurus

What 'better-place'
could I find, than CF GE 50+ ??

so, to surround myself
with our Lord's Children... so, to learn more about Him
through the Witness and Testament of, The Good Shepherd's Flock

Not my will but His.... amen

Bookworm on board.I have read two books that were works of fiction but I really enjoyed them immensely.
They are by Christian author Terri Blackstock Last Night and Night Light. These books may be prophetic. The author focuses on a middle class neighborhood that has to survive a blackout.Nothing electrical works .At the end of the 2nd novel we still didn't know why the lights were out. There is a sequel I haven't read.
My other favorites are by Jan Karon .The Mitford Series is wonderful. It is a tale of a minister and his parish in a small North Carolina town.
Finally The Little House on the Prarie Series is a nonstop winner.
I also borrowed a set of books from the library about an Amish Family. However I can't remember the titles nor author.Maybe someone can help me.
I have read many ,many others that I will share some other time.
