  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In the New Testament church, the spiritual leaders of the church were elders
(sometimes called bishops, overseers, guardians, or shepherds) and decons.
The decons could be described as assistant elders, having similar functions apart from teaching or preaching.
A very important part of an elder's responsibilities (in the New Testament eldership was always shared never the task of one man) was leading and speaking at meetings and services and undertaking church discipline. (The latter being a much neglected function today.)
Another way of putting it is to say that elders were to feed and protect the flock and refute false teaching.
Another task of the elders was to encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
Also elders were to be an example to others in love, faith, purity, and ready to pray for the sick.
No one elder could do all these things, but together they could perform these ministries and so build up an increasingly harmonious, united, loving, and joyful fellowship.
The distinctive mark of eldership, as of any form of leadership, are sumission to Christ, and genuine service to others. Serving does not mean being servile or giving people what they want, but meeting their true needs.
As an Elder that is my ministry.

Be Careful for nothing
Be Prayful for everything
Be Thankful for anything
