What is a sound mind?

If there was a skinny boney delapidated dog in your back yard, would you not do anything about it but just leave it there (maybe even sheltering it and feeding it without healing it) ?
Resist the devil and he will flee . Tell it to go away. Even a three year old with faith can do this easy.

I do resist it. That's why I beat it. That's why I'm healed. It doesn't take much to resist because i love God. But Christians are not beyond temptation. It's what we do with it that matters. What kind of faith isn't tested?

I'm not sure the source, or context of this question, or what you're seeking; but most of your posts (if not all of them) as far as I can tell have been honest and truthful ...
If everybody tested everything before accepting it, there would not be so many churches or religions or false teachers or false prophets , I think.

I'm saying that my faith is tested by lust that I have overcome but it's still there. Occasionally it rears its head. I use faith and prayer to overcome it. For example, I used to want a lot of possessions. So I fought those desires and now I'm content with simple things and im very happy. I drew a line and i said that I won't cross it. But temptation comes and I remind myself that God's love is what I want. I'm so full of joy and love that I can't see myself ever turning back to my old self. I'm new and I'm happy this way.

Having a "sound mind" doesn't refer, I think, to mental illness, fear, or perfect judgment. We all have a Sin Nature and are weakened by sin in our flesh. The argument made is that we can face these kinds of troubles with the mind of Christ because Christ has been renewing our minds through the Holy Spirit. We are able to perceive, by revelation, the things of Christ.

Having this mindset we can focus our minds on Christ to stabilize ourselves, to keep focused on God's will where His power is active on our behalf.

God will not always do what we want. He won't always heal us, or take us out of troublesome attacks or situations. But we always have access to the mind of Christ where we can make "sound" decisions to remain in the Spirit and in righteousness.

Not easy at all times, but it's something that will be good for us. We can indeed overcome sin, even if we cannot completely remove the effect of sin upon our lives.

I believe I have overcome sin. But I feel so terrible inside right now. I'm not sure why. I wait on the Lord like Paul and David mentioned

You probably feel awful because you're in a "down" time. God may let you have a lot of "down" times. No matter what He lets you go through, know that you are in His will, and He will work out something that you can be proud of for all eternity. Just hang in there, and try to do something else while you're waiting to have a better day. That's just my 2 cents, though.

Although my words may seem cheap, they are not. I felt like a caged animal for 12 years, and have suffered most of my life through troubles that some of us can identify with, and others in different ways. We don't get out of this life without suffering. And it is our glory to keep our love to the end. God is faithful in love to a million generations.

Yes but with mental illness you can blame yourself which robs your joy. However the Lord will restore us if we wait on him.

Yes, you have to deal with the demon of condemnation, who wishes to disquallify you for simply being weak or for feeling like a failure. Focus on the little blessings you notice along the way. Eventually you'll realize that God loves you no matter what you've done, no matter how cursed you feel. One day you'll see yourself enveloped by His love, who appreciates you standing tall in a time of weakness. The evil one targets you because he hates you. The Lord loves you because He knows you will always love Him, and will show the angels your great courage.

It's hard to say what the problem is. God chastens us, and mental illness is different. I have God's love but I go through battles none the less. I wait on the Lord to show me the problem or restore my joy.

Like I said, hang in there. Take it from someone who knows. This was my specialty in the military many years ago. And I've had my own problems.

Thank you my friend. I have trouble with worship music. I dont like listening to people who sell albums. I shouldn't have to pay to worship God. In my opinion
