What is a Messianic Jew?

Forgive my ignorance.. but what is a Messianic Jew? What is different from a Protestant, ...ect...

Are you national Jews converted to christianity?
Are you gentile converting?

Lead me to some threads or something please where I can learn and understand.. I guess my ignorance is really showing.. I must have thought that a Messianic Jew was a Jew who believed in Jesus and would become a Baptist.. or Pentecostal.. ect...

Please, again, forgive my insultive ignorance
My request is in humility.

A person (either Jewish or doesnt have to be Jewish) that believes in Christ and God. Just like a Christian, but Messianic Jews read the Torah also. A regular Jew doesn't believe in Jesus like a Messianic Jew does. I don't know if this will help, but you can check out these websites:
