I am uncomfortable with the amount of information Google has about me. I usually have the habit of staying logged into Gmail while I search the web and so Google knows every webpage I visit. I also use Google sites to share some life experiences and I think that it might not be a really good idea to let google know everything about me.
Here is an article that says that in the future everything we do on the internet will be monitored by the government Experts Claim Everything We Read, Watch And Buy Online Will Be Controlled By Government By 2025
I think that google may become part of this in the future so I wanted to ask the question what alternatives are there to gmail that are good and that keep the emails store in conversations like gmail does?

Host your own E-Mail with your own Domain then you have 100% control of what is done with your data.

If you wan't others to host & run your e-mail then you've got to put up with their rues & terms.

What he said. If you are going to rely on others for the security of your information, you might as well forget about your security.
