  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, Mormons and Jehovah's Witness are not false prophets. They are unbelievers and need the Lord.

A false prophet is someone who claims to be a prophet, and is wrong at least once.

A true prophet must be 100% correct.

Joseph Smith, the founder of mormonism is indeed a false prophet.

Prophecy is a gift, but as all gifts, God gives us a free-will as to how we use it. Since we are human we are subject to err, thus no one should blindly accept everything that comes from the mouth of a prophet. We must pray for wisdom and discernment. We can't make the gift disapear by theologizing it away, so we must accept that God speaks and so do humans and so we must be discerning. God will lead the earnest in heart.

In the Bible there were many incidents of people who did not use their gift for God but nevertheless prophesied. But, there were also occasions, such as with Balaam, where greed got in the way of his God-given annointing and caused him to falsely prophesy. It is confusing, but then again, we are a confused people because we are determined to know all the things about God of which some are unknowable and for a good reason...one of the things that i love so much about Him. Nevertheless, it is fun to contemplate and I can barely wait until the day when I will no longer prophesy in part, but will know fully the things of God...that glorious day when i lay my trophies at His feet. Halelujah!!!!!!! :D
