Tuba, bass clarinet and sing mezzo soprano. I also love playing tambourine!!

Yup. Sophomore year in High School our tuba player dropped out and the instructor asked if anyone wanted to play sousaphone. No one volunteered so I said I'd be willing to learn. There you go. Section leader ever since! Lol

I play bass. I've definitely met kids with better chops than me, but I hold my own. I also dabble in guitar and vox but I wouldn't call myself either. I used to play anything brass that was not a trombone. Been a few years since high school though. I've still got chops but my lips turn to butter within 10 minutes.

Bass is my instrument though. I do it well and have a good ear for making pretty girls dance, if nothing else. And despite the fact that I'm probably ruining any hope that the bands I play in will ever get big, my mediocre basslines that get girls dancing just about guarantee that I'll be playing for years to come.

lol, snow, i wish i could say that my voice can get girls to dance (voice in my main instrument),though i am a drummer for a couple groups that have girls, and at least one guy, dance, but i do it more for the joy of music, cause at the time, that's all i can concentrate on, hitting the right part of the doumbec at the right time

Hard to dance when your feet are rocking a kick and a hat. I'm not familiar with the doumbec... is that a weirder spelling of djiembe or whatever it is?

You are percussion section! You are responsible for making girls dance! No ifs, ands, or buts about it. The pretty girls say the singer has a nice voice but it's you and me that created the groove that she danced to. That's our job.

snow, doumbec has a different sound from a djembe, but a beautiful sound, and yes, it's a hand drum like a djembe
