• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I finally went back to a meeting. I have been sober for a year and 8 months but have not followed the steps and have not kept to a sponser. Things that have happened recently made me realize that I need to take this seriously. The what ifs are too easy too build up.

Crystal: You are on the right track. Try and get to a regular meeting plan. (At least One day a week -- maybe a noon meeting & At least one on the weekends). Tell them you are in need of a temporary sponsor till you get settled and use your phone list.

I'm glad you realized you needed the group -- sounds like you might have been close to a slip. Nothing is worth having to do all that work over again. Remember progress not perfection. Good For You!

Thanks so much. I am going to start going to the monday night at my home group again. I really like it the best because the chair has been one of my best supporters. He has been like a father to me. He lives near me which is a plus since I can not drive (seizures).

I am still searching for a sponser. There are a few ladies that I have seen down at the group regularly. I am thinking about asking one of them. Yes, I think I was very close to a slip and as my AA Papa , as I call him,(the chair on mondays) said - "caseys is way too close"--- right behind my apartment complex - about a 3-5 minute walk.
