  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What if a person had a love for Japan without ever seeing an Anime. What if they wanted to learn Japanese before ever hearing an Anime. What if for some reason, they just wanted to go to Japan, before ever being introduced to Anime. Then this person saw an Anime.

The thing is, people want to do the above listed things because they watch anime. What would happen the one who already wanted to do the above, then saw anime. Would they become even more addicted than a normal person? Just wondering.

I fall into this situation, somewhat. Of course, before anime I was really into Godzilla movies, so that probably doesn't help.

However, the thing that separates me from your Joe Typical stereotyped modern anime fan is that I'm not obsessed with either Japan itself or with anime. It's just another part. It's interesting and I like learning about the culture and enjoy anime, but it's not all I talk about (music or computers would probably take that position, even though those do play into my AMV hobby - of course, the main reason I'm into AMVs isn't so much the anime as it is the creativity factor, and the way you can play around with things).

I've always had an interest in Japan. Before I ever saw an anime.

I also don't really like anime that much. There are only a few good ones out there in my opinion. I prefer Jdorama much more than anime.

What I am asking/saying is that the above signs of an anime superfan. I myself have watched a few different series, and only one, do I not like. The only one other do I not think is supurb. The thing is, I might could be (form my little experience) anime fan, but I already show all the signs of one befor I even knew what anime was. I was just wondering, how much more will I like Japanese.
