  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please pray for my hubby. He had a procedure called a myelogram on Friday morning. It involved a spinal injection of dye into his spinal column and was done as part of the preparation for his pending back surgery.

He developed a nasty headache on Saturday that got worse yesterday. So, yesterday afternoon, we headed to the ER. They ran some tests and confirmed that he was leaking spinal fluid (one of the possible complications from the procedure) and did a blood patch.

The headache subsided pretty much immediately (PTL! ), but he is very sore now from the two procedures. It is to be expected, but he has been through so much in the last 3 months with his back, that I would really appreciate prayers for his situation.

He needs surgery sooner than later. He needs pain relief...and he will need healing most of all.

Also, he is home with the mancubs today since they didn't have school, so pray that they are behaving for him like I asked them to (they're usually good for him, but they also know he's laid up and might show their mischevious sides. lol).

Thanks.

As a praise: my wound in my heel had a sudden "burst" of healing. Normally, it heals by about 0.2cm each week, but this week, it healed by 0.5cm, and the podiatrist gave me the "go ahead" to get rid of my off-pressure boot.

As a prayer request:

I recently reconnected with a friend (we'll call him "Ace"). Ace and I were friends in elementary, middle, and part of high school, where we simply went different ways in life. Two years ago, Ace rolled an ATV and suffered severe brain injury. While he has made leaps and bounds in his recovery, he still has a very long way to go.

I will be seeing Ace for the first time since 9th grade on Thursday. Please pray that God will allow my words to comfort him and give him what he needs to hear, and that God will use this situation with Ace to bless his family. They have grown closer to God as a result of this, but there is always room for more growth with all of us.

I'd like to thank God for giving me the Christian conference I went to last weekend. I'd been feeling very lonely, anxious and far from God. You may have noticed my irritability on CF over the past few weeks. To be honest I even skipped church a few times. But the conference really woke me up again, and put things right in my heart, and reminded me of my true purpose for living. It came at the perfect time. I'm so grateful for everything I learnt during it. Please help me thank God for it, and please pray that I'll remember all that I learnt, and be able to live it out every day.
