• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I only heard today about what happened in Nigeria last week with the riots in Jos. I just wanted to post this because it hasn't been in the news much in the UK so I don't know if other CF Brits have heard about it. My church has links with a church out there and they are saying that terrible things have happened, but that there have also been talks between Muslim and Christian leaders which have prevented yet more violence. Anyway I'm praying for them

It is Holocaust Memorial Day today too

My earthly "father" just made it abundantly clear how he feels about me. Please pray that I'll be able to simply move out of his life as quickly as possible, because if that day were yesterday, it could not come soon enough.

I met a guy in church tonight who has ME like me. I was telling him about the hospital program I did which has really helped me, and the prayer group I went to. I think the program might help him but he didn't seem to sure so I just wondered if you would mind praying for his healing, for God's will to be done in this matter and that the guy's mind could be open to new opportunities for healing? Thank you. It really made me remember how trapped and hopeless I felt when I was not so well.

Skellington--I'll be praying for sure.

Through God's goodness, an accident did not go as badly as it could have. I was in a sledding accident and hit a tree very hard. Since that night, I've had a lot of memory issues and headaches and dizziness. By the prompting of loving family and friends, I got it checked up. No bleeding in my brain, but I have what my doctor called a "post concussive syndrome" meaning that symptoms resulting from a concussion are persisting and will take time to dissipate. So the waiting game continues as I write down everything I need to remember and rest. Rest is the best recovery for this, and symptoms can last from weeks to months.
Here's what you can pray for for me:
Help remembering my schoolwork and ministry obligations.
Support from friends and family.
Stability for the next few weeks
No accidents for awhile so I can heal properly
Patience when I fail
Also, thank God for the grace I've experienced from professors and friends as I've struggled.
I never thought this would bother me so much, but it has. Praise God for His power to heal our bodies, hearts, and minds.
