• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There is someone to help you.. God! Don't hang onto negativity.. thats a recipe for sadness :( I know how hard it can be when you start thinking negitively and then the thoughts just keep coming and coming. Just hang in there. Look for ways to distract yourself. Start with this site, it can be very uplifting :) Try to replace the negitive thoughts with prayers as soon as they pop into your head! Praying will help you get your faith back on track, too. God loves you, and everything happens for a reason. What's vice today may be virtue tomorrow! He works in mysterious ways, but when you perservere, you reap the rewards. He is a good God. I am praying for you! :prayer:

Building on a Solid Foundation

On the therapeutic side, talk to a counsellor or paster to help you. Also learn to listen to your heart's desire. Is there an insturment like to play, like to write, draw, or anything creative? Explore these different avenues of expression and see what works best for you.

Creativity is medicine. Don't have to make it perfect, just let what is inside you come out. As you do it, going make things little better.

To help allow you some freedom of negitive thoughts, start writing your own "Morning Pages". Every morning just take pen to paper and let whatever is on your mind come out. Don't be afraid of it is good or bad. Expression is built within us.

Benefits are that you start to create a picture of your conciousness. Thoughts that are gumming up in the mind will be expressed making room for new thoughts. Also you can get an idea of areas need to develope too.

Remember who you feel right now well. Remember it everytime you want to just give up, remember how empty and dead it is. Remember so you will know why that you can't go back.
