  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Absolutely NOTHING! I've thrown my back out in a major way and I haven't cried in pain for years and years, but I sure did this a.m. My brother-in-law is a chiropractor but he's out of town until Monday.....whaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I'm going to feel guilty about resting tomorrow since I did so much of that today. I keep hoping that whatever it is gets better while I sleep tonight otherwise I'll never make it to church.

I could use some prayers friends!

God bless,
~Lainie

It's ok that you rested today as well.

Prayers you have.

Oh, speaking of "rest" which leads me to Sabbath...I took my daughter to the OB-GYN today and there was a magazine in his office I had never seen before. Created by a Church of God in Philidelphia, PA. When I turned to the first page, which was the editorial, I about fell out of the chair.

There was a 3 page article on the Sabbath, who changed it, why they changed it, and why "they" were wrong to do so. It gave the history all the way back to Constantine, and in bold red letters it said, "Vicar" doesn't mean Christ-like, it means REPLACEMENT of Christ.

The editorial was also about the new Pope and his stressing that everyone needs to get back to "Sunday" as the "Lord's Day".

I've never seen anything like this out in the public arena like I saw it today. It gave me an opportunity to witness and to talk to people in a doctor's waiting room about the true "Lord's Day" and why they should be keeping it. God presents us with opportunities, no matter where we are or what we are doing.

Praise Him.

I am praying for your back TrustandObey

As to the Church of God, certain branches of Church of God do teach the Sabbath.

Church of God Seventh-day of course

And of course Armstrong's group, though they have undergone some splits at times.

I didn't make it to church today. Although my back feels a little bit better, I am still in a lot of pain. This is worse than childbirth because I can't do much to get away from the pain at all.

I appreciate the prayers and I'm sure I'll be all better soon.

My mother-in-law is a licensed massage therapist and my brother-in-law is a chiropractor, so between the two I outta be feeling better soon. LOL

Hey, that's awesome!!!

How was the doctor's appointment by the way? Bambino still looking beautimous?!!!

Bambino's doing great. Giving the doctor a FIT though. He's been trying and trying to determine the baby's sex. Not that we really care, cause we don't, but it's become like a personal challenge for this doctor, ROFL. Every time he does an ultrasound, my grandchild is turned with his back towards us, and all we can see are his little butt cheeks. This last time, his head turned and looked as if he were looking over his shoulders at us, and probably going "pffffffffffffft" with a huge "raspberry" to us. I liked to died laughing.

I know there are many other denominations that have a group that keep the Sabbath, Tall. That isn't what surprised me...what surprised me was their outspokeness, they were right on the head of the nail too, and they said it like it is. Sometimes the "truth" isn't too pleasant to take for some, and this editor simply didn't care. It's like, "Time's too short for us to be pussyfooting around."

It opened up witnessing opportunities as well. I was surprised to find it in his waiting room, addressed TO the doctor, meaning it wasn't there by accident. I am even more certain we have the right doctor for my daughter. He took her as a regular patient when no one else would because she is Medicaid. So, whatever church he goes to, GOD BLESS HIM.

Throughout my pregnancy with my last child I had FIVE ultrasounds for various reasons and we were never able to tell if it was male or female!!! Because 1) on the first one my son decided he wanted to tuck the umbilical cord between his legs 2) for the second one he had his back towards us and had his legs crossed very tightly 3) he had the hiccups and had his hand on his "stuff". When the ultrasound technician tried to get him to move he would move a lot but keep his hand "there" 4) playing with the umbilical cord again 5) he tucked his legs over so you could never see the groin area.

LOL...for some reason we weren't supposed to know, but I always knew it was a boy for some reason. :)

I missed church yesterday as well on account of a head cold that kept me in bed a good part of the whole weekend.

I seem to be better now though. :)

I hope and pray that you are feeling better too. :prayer:

Daryl, I hope you're feeling better.

I'm getting close to a WEEK that my back or hip (haven't figured out which one) has been out of joint. I walk like an old woman. I'm starting to think maybe it's a constant spasm and that's the reason for the pain....dunno for sure!

I just need a good muscle relaxant and a day of Oprah...oh, and some ice cream.....but my husband isn't quite convinced of that yet.

I finally went to see my brother-in-law today (he's a chiropractor), and my back was in really bad shape. My spine was curved so much that it looked like I had scoliosis! My center of gravity was off by 29 pounds! I was putting 29 pounds more on one leg than I was on the other.

He adjusted me and now I have some swelling and some spasms...but I feel like a new woman already! He wants to see me again tomorrow.

I also have some degeneration in my neck.

Happy, please thank him for me and let him know that I will be lifting him up to God tonight! He has a wonderful gift and I saw him take several people out of their pain tonight. God is using him for such a special purpose!

I would appreciate it if you all would continue lifting me up to God as well. I feel the prayer helping me very much.

God bless,
~Lainie

I'm glad you are feeling better. You and your family are always in my prayers.

Chiropractors ARE very special. A lot of people, unfortunately, do not know this firsthand. I saw the one I worked for perform many "miracles" with his very hands during my time of employment with him. People from all walks of life, with all kinds of problems. I saw elderly people hobble in with the help of their children holding them up, and within no time, they were walking in on their own. I saw him help two women who were suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. They had tried everything and been to every doctor. After about 6 weeks of regular visits, they were both doing and feeling much better.

How does Chiropractic do THAT, you may be asking? Chiropractic keeps the information highway from the brain to the rest of the body CLEAR from traffic jams. If your brain can't get the signals it's sending out to the rest of the organs of your body, something is going to suffer because of it.

All I know is, that when I worked for him, he kept me regularly adjusted and I had never, up to that point in time, felt so good, nor have I since.

We ran a "class" every Tuesday night for new patients, helping them to understand the benefits of regular visits.

Now, some might say that my Dr. Ron was attempting to keep the cash flowing by keeping people coming back and coming back. They would be dead wrong. He never turned anyone away for inability to pay. If you couldn't afford it at all, he did it for free. Most of his long time patients paid no more than $15 per vist, and many paid only $5 or less. He truly believed in what he was doing, and he wants to be certain everyone who wants to benefit from it, can.

God bless you, John for the service you perform. I guess you can tell how much I miss my Dr. Ron. "oh my aching back!"

John isn't charging me a dime but wants to see me again today. He even took x-rays. His main objective, and I have no doubt about this, is to make sure I feel better.

When I saw the x-rays I really thought he was going to tell me that I had a disease of the spine or something. I seriously felt my heart jump out of my chest. I shot up Peter's prayer of "Lord, SAVE ME!"

Unfortunately since I didn't know what was wrong with me I tried many home remedies that were really working against me. I didn't realize my spine was curved sideways, so I had Austin sitting on my back and gently bouncing down, pushing my lower back inward...it's a wonder I didn't cripple myself for life. :(

Chiropractic really is a gift and John knows exactly what he's doing. I've never been so impressed with a doctor before in my life!

A little sidenote...John has his own practice and it was so wonderful to go in there and see praises to the Lord everywhere! Lots of plaques and pictures talking about the wonderful Creator! It was so refreshing to get to see that, because it's not something you get to see very often.

I've never asked him, but I have a feeling he has witnessed to quite a few people in that office. Jesus healed more than he taught the Word, and it hit me that when you heal someone and give all glory to God, they want to know more about Him. I am glad John seized the opportunity to follow Jesus' example.

Sounds like "John" should make the trip down under.

Tell him business would be good here.

I will be first inline for a treatment or two.

Cliff, I didn't realize you were elderly. LOL (teasing)

I play in a squash comp at the local squash club on Monady nights and have a training session on Wednesday or Thursday most weeks.

This week my back was so sore that I had to have a session with a massage therapist to get me onto the court.

She really went deep into the tissues in my leg and lower back. It didn't feel too good but it worked and was able to play my game and walk off the court when it was over.

I played this young guy (46) and was able to stick with him for 4 games but went down fairly bad in game 5 to end up losing the match 2/3.

Next Monday is the end of the comp and him and I are now equal on points on line 2. Most of the time I am playing guys half my age. My team is leading the comp by about 15 points but this hot weather takes it out of me so if anyone has a secret formular to combat the heat, you can let me know.
