I am actually reading a brand new work "Hanna's Journey: Sometimes the brightest clarity comes from walking through the darkness" it is still in production. It is part of the Storms of Time series be B. Chantel available on Amazon. So far it is a pretty good read. I enjoyed the first in the series Christopher's Journey

I read the first two books of A Song of Fire and Ice by George Martin recently...
I would stop while you can. Not because of some short raunchy descriptions, or anything else.

When I picked up the books when the third was the last novel released, I decided to just wait until the series was complete, because I started to forget characters names and events, while I waited for the books to be published. Good call, because he still has not finished it and his last two books got some mediocre reviews (and not because he took so long, it was actually because of the content).

Warning: a few swear words (three I think).

That video... Oh my goodness I completely understand how they feel!

It's too late, I'm already hooked >_< I'm watching it on HBO too, so that doesn't help. But I never thought about him not being done. When I started I didn't even know there was more than four books or that it wasn't done. I actually only got into reading them when I got a free map of the world at a convention in September. But I haven't heard much good after the fourth book anyway, so my expectations are pretty low. Thanks for the warning though ^-^

Hello everyone, how is everybody doing today? Hope all is well. I just finished a book called A Bend in the Road by Nicolas Sparks. It was really good. I liked it though it was a little sad since it starts out with a death of the character, but overall nice solid read. Before that I read Five Women which is also really good. Just follows different life stories of 5 friends.

Also is anyone on here a fan of The Outsiders by S. Hinton? I know it's more for teens, but I read it a long time ago and I'm still a fan. It kind of corresponds my own life story that's why I like it:)

I...I am..too late? :lost:

watch

I am sorry I failed, the addiction is too strong now :unbelievable:
The only positive thing is that GRR Martin did tell the HBO people the plot and ending, if I remember correctly. Still, how come he takes this long and why does it take so much time to write the books if he really already know what is going to happen (I assumed for a long time that he didn't plan ahead and had to make it up as he goes, which would be the reason why everything goes slow).. That surely would speed up the proces.

Yeah, I get addicted to fantasy stories too easily...

I will just be really annoyed if HBO finishes the series before Martin does. But it sounds like he has a few more years before HBO will finish, at this rate at least.

All I can say is the last book better make up for all the time people have spent waiting to read it!

believerwithallmyheart- I remember reading The Outsiders in middle school... I remember liking it too! Probably one of the best books I read at the time.

I read the outsiders in high school. It was a pretty good book :) We had to write an essay on it though which I didn't so much enjoy at the time

You read The Outsiders in Australia. I'm impressed It's a really good book, but I hear you - those essays can be a pain in the neck. You just want to enjoy a good book, not make a lesson out of everythig.

yeah, it makes it hard to enjoy the story if you have to try and analyse it while you're reading in preparation for an essay

Have you seen the movie? It's pretty good. The complete novel includes all the scenes that have been cut from the original. The original skipped a lot of parts from the book, and made it somewhat confusing for those who didn't read the book. The complete novel is pretty good, and it has even more deleted scenes and commentary by the actors.

yeah we saw the movie as well :) I can't remember all of it, but it was pretty good. The complete novel sounds good, cos the original definitely did skip parts

I am reading The Firm by John Grisham. It's different from the type of books that I usually read, but It's really good.

Also I am curious to find out if any of you read A Walk To Remember and what you think about it. At first I thought it was really corny, but then I kind of changed my mind and actually liked both the book and the movie. What do you think?
