  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

MBing of course, being Message Boarding, or by definition the participation (often to the point of addiction) in various message boards.

I gotta admit, I am a definite addict. I can't keep up in chat rooms, so MBing is right up my alley. I started on the Left Behind Message Board over two years ago, and now have a whole folder in the favorites of them.

So what has MBing taught you? I'll start and ya can add on..

I learned that I have an opinion that counts.

I learned that people really do care about you even if they never know your real name, what you look like, or (ugh) what you are wearing.

I learned that God knows my username too...and knows who I mean when I pray for "that one guy in that forum with the funny name".

I learned that It is OK if people don't agree with me nor I with them. We can still be friends.

So what about you????

I guess first off, it taught me what MBing means. :p

It has and is teaching me to see all angles of the argument before forming my opinion.

I have learned that I am not the only one who thinks the same weird thoughts as I do.

I have also learned that there are some weird people out there with some weird thoughts!

I made the term MBing up... one day it will be in every cyber dictionary and you will know whom it came from.

And Badfish, every time I read your user name I sing the FFH song "Big Fish" in my head. It is such a happy, catchy song!

Hi E-beth,

I have learned that there are a lot of great people out there in that cyber world. A lot of great people who love God. Also God can use anything or anyone for His work. I think that is exciting.

I learn something new everyday Mbing :) I still do not know what BTW means (between)? Can somebody tell me if I am right? Took me forever to figure out LOL. :D

God Bless,
Roberta

Its taught me that the Body of Christ is large, diverse, and much like a family. Its taught me to search the scriptures more, and that my perspective is not the only perspective worth looking at. :) Its also taught me that some people will never change their minds no matter what.

E-Beth(Honey),

MB'ing has taught me that there are many people out there that have been misinformed, and taught totally wrong about the love of God and the sacrifices that Christ made for us, They need to find out for sure just where they stand with God. Simply by opening their Bible and reading about the endless and boundless love that is waiting for them accept.

Enuff, If i go on anymore I will be here all night....... ;)

Hi,
this MB'ing has thought me that I need to read the Bible more than MB'ing! :)

I am also getting addicted.

This place is very fun. I enjoy reading threads more than posting on them . he he!!

Does anyone have an opinion on addiction to MB's. For me, I think it is no good so I will try to spend as little time on here as possible... but I really like reading the threads because I feel I am learning. I have my Bible beside me and I look up the verses people quote. Because people talk about particular topics, it is very useful for me to know the Bible verses. That way I can evangelize better to others!

God bless the MBs!

Iffy, I have wondered the same thing about addictions... course like you, I read my Bible and study gobs more when I am involved like I get sometimes... IMO (in my opinion, blynn ;) ) anything that gets someone's nose stuck in the Bible is a good thang!

BigFish.. I mean, Badfish. FFH is a Christian music group that my ten-year-old neice first shared with me. I believe they might be a teenybopper group, but at any rate, the song is good. I downloaded the song from WinMx so I can listen to it on teh puter, and I think I might buy the CD one of these weekends. (Don't tell the maturity police on me) Anyway, the song is about pleasing God or not, thereby being in a big fish (a la Jonah)

If ya can't find it to download and you want it, maybe I can transfer it to ya somehow.

ANYWAY...

I learned that I think faster than I type and that gets me in trouble. ;)

and I also learned that I am responible for every word I post in that I dunno who reads em. I try not to post anything I wouldn't want Gramma to see. (always remembering that God sees everything too!)

I've learned that there really are some people who believe some reeeaaallly different and sometimes strange things. There are a lot of really lost people. I think people tend to be more candid over the internet than they are in "real life". It has made me more aware of some of the depravity out there.

On the bright side I'm learning to have a lot of fun!:)

I've learned that there are people out there who will be my friends without having a hidden agenda.

I've learned not to be shy about asking for prayer when I need it.

I've learned how to be more supportive of others in prayer.

Great thread, E-Beth! :D
