• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Dear Bipolars

Has everyone become well and there are no new bipolar cases???

We have not had any new folks seeking medical advise.

It appears the THANKFUL & HIGH AN LOW OP'S gets most all the posts and there are no questions being posed. The problem with that is folks that visit see no topics that may well affect them. So they fail to become involved.

Well i have had my say so now you can beat me over the head!!!

BUT JUST REMEMBER:

First I would like to point out that this section is to be used for helping one another and relating personal experiences, however it is not supposed to be used to seek professional medical advice that should always be sought through medically licensed professionals. This area is to encourage and support one another.

Steven the importance of have such threads though is great in order to bolster those that already do post here so as to bring them together continually as a unit.

Although what you say is true that people can see that thread in that light they also can see it in the light of people coming together in unity too and therefore it can be used as a great icebreaker for someone or launching point for them to be able to start talking to others so that they feel part of the crowd instead of separated from it.

So while there are good and bad points I would tend to try to point to the positive instead of the negative especially in light of whom we are talking about, people that suffer with Bi-Polarism, as I do.

Lovingly In Christ

Never know how many newbies maybe coming in and finding the advice they need through the sharing of our struggles with highs and lows. The roller coaster ride is one thing all bp's can understand and relate to. My advice is for you to keep giving advice to those who are posting. I may not always agree with you and how you handle things.....but I am sure there are those out there who do. And even I agree with you sometimes....lol;).....God Bless You

Dear Rushingwind62

The ONLY problem I see is a person might need to go through many posts before they find something needed.

I'm not sure a new bipolar would have such patience.

This use to be quite an active site. I come because I'm bipolar and I owe my life to GOD and HIS WILL.

I don't try to be popular or have pride stand in the way of helping others.

I'm not always known for my tact and for that I'm sorry. I do believe TRUTH SHALL PREVAIL!!!

Sometimes we have to decide if we are to become friends with folks or carry out GOD'S WILL.

With all your friends here I would hope the care and welfare of the sick is the ruling factor on the way we approach this forum.

WITH THAT IN MIND MAY WE ALL REMEMBER:

X Even though you can't see him, GOD is there!!! O ( click on the x and drag to the O ) ( then see who is with you ) steven

That is with anywhere on this site.

I'm not sure a new bipolar would have such patience.
Then ask them but do not assume something for them.

Every site has it's highs and lows period. Just like every ministry has it's own turnover rate and when that happens then there are times that certain things slack off for awhile and will later pick back up again.

Sometimes we have to decide if we are to become friends with folks or carry out GOD'S WILL.
And sometimes you can do both. It need not be an either or decision. Sometimes in your efforts to do God's will you do make friends and you are now making that sound bad. How is that beneficial to anyone here?

I personally have seen many new people post in both threads mentioned here and I also see new people come and go, some stay. I am getting busier in my life personally and debating about the use of my time here vs other calling's God has on my life. Much prayer is needed before I can tell what God is truly saying. But for my two cents worth, I think thus site can do both.

I love the Thankful thread-it remeinds me of all our blessings that we can so easily that for granted and makes me stop and really think about what else I have to be thankful for. I feel we as Christians are not wasting our time and should support others in gocusing thanks on God, I velieve that is quite Biblical.

I love the post your mood thread, cause you maybe so high or low that you cannot do much else but post a quick word about how you are doing, or busy, but I personally use this as a way to quickly catch up with and say a prayer for all who post there. I also call this quit Biblical.

It has not also stopped others from posting in anyway they see fit.

I personally was posting less, although I was still checking in and praying because the holiday season and travels just made it so my time did not allow me to "do what I usually do". I made 8 or 9 kinds of cookies, 2 kinds of fudge and multiple meals for guests and get together, Did my bible study and prayertime alone and in groups did my bread ministry, and the food bank and studying for my RN Reentry all around the holiday travels and get togethers. This consumed a large amount of my time that I could have normally beenposting here.

Did I have trials and ups and downs I needed support for or that others might pray for me about, SURE, I call that life, and that life and it's challenges are direct impacted by my illness. But reality was I leaned hard on God and got through it by checking in here and not posting, but praying for all my friends.

So like I said. I personally think these threads are wonderful and this site can do both of those things.

well, it is like this: Jesus was not only a minister to people, he was a friend. I choose to follow his example.
Dear Rushingwind62

" well, it is like this: Jesus was not only a minister to people "

" Webster’s definition

6 entries found for minister.

1 : AGENT
2 a : one officiating or assisting the officiant in church worship b : a clergyman especially of a Protestant communion
3 a : the superior of one of several religious orders -- called also minister-general b : the assistant to the rector or the bursar of a Jesuit house
4 : a high officer of state entrusted with the management of a division of governmental activities
5 a : a diplomatic representative (as an ambassador) accredited to the court or seat of government of a foreign state b : a diplomatic representative ranking below an ambassador
"

This is where the problem is. To me HE is the SON of GOD and I call HIM LORD.

IT HELPS IF YOU WOULD REMEMBER:

X Even though you can't see him, GOD is there!!! O
