What happens if you can’t keep the faith through the trials?

I honestly want to know because I am there. I am on the edge (some days feeling like I am over the edge) of completely losing any faith I have. So what happens?

Not exactly what I was asking. That is what to do. I was asking what happens when you fail the test/trial?

Get up again, dust yourself off and put your trust in Jesus. I have failed many times in trials and I don't count those failures. Every Christian on this planet fails at different points, on the path of trials.

We are only saved by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the end.

Repent and you will see your faith return. I always ask God to forgive me and feel renewed. It seems those times of doubt are less and less.
I watch Allen Jackson's sermons and he suggested making a daily list of those prayers answered and when you question go back and remind yourself of God's faithful answers. I know he answers some but when he doesn't my memory can't always remember them unless I can go back and see. Also we tend to brush over the blessings from him unless we seek them daily.

I've been through the mill with hardship myself. Many have. With eternity in view, and not knowing when it will arrive, I'd encouage you push forward in faith.

You are looking in the wrong place. It's not up to you to keep the faith. Paul said that we live by the faith of the Son of God (Galatians 2:20). This is one verse that the KJV gets right and other versions wrong. Put your trust in Jesus. He is the author and perfecter of our faith. Remind Him of His promises. I've had to do this myself. HE is faithful to all His promises.

Our faith as Christians is tested, sometimes we overcome and move forward in our walk, other times we get stuck.

Feeling a sense of being in the wilderness is a common occurrence for Christians in their walk, it is a strange experience and not a good feeling. It is I believe, a lack of understanding at a particular point, even Christ was confused it would seem, in the passage below from scripture. Wait for the attacks.

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Losing hope and trust in GOD and HIS word is different to having your faith wobbled through trials or lack of understanding at a particular point in trials.

It's never good to fail a trial. This whole life is effectively one big collection of trials ahead of the true life to come. So, by all means, don't fail the trials as that is the very purpose of our required faith in this life.

Firstly, consider Moses, how he failed before The Father in bringing forth water for Israel the second time. He paid the penalty of not going into the land. Although he went after if in his spiritual state.

Secondly, consider Peter, how he denied Messiah and carried a heavy burden and the shame of the story, as he had to share it over and over again as he lived out his days as an apostle. But he will still be saved and rewarded richly on that Day.

So then, failure for trials do come with a consequence. For these are not a games but trials. Whilst the consequence won't always last into eternity, thanks to His grace and mercy, there will nevertheless be consequences.

Therefore, do all you can to stand strong and faithful in trials and you will be rewarded with peace and joy after they pass and a clear conscience.

Stay strong brother. You can overcome great trials with faith and hope in Him and His Kingdom. Don't give up.

When we are to the point we can't or don't know what to pray in trials or otherwise in times of our lives, the Holy Spirit prays for us in groans we can't understand. Knowing that, don't drop out of your faith but know that the holy spiritual realm is working for you. Rebuke the enemy in the trial because there probably is one, will be your goal going forward even if paralyzed in the present trial . Meanwhile Ephesians 6 comes to mind and in all times of your life keep scripture reading going, value the tools you have been gifted with so that they can be fresh on your mind and keep that Spirit active..

himself intercedes for us through wordless groans"

God uses our tests and trials as a gauge but He never leaves us or forsakes us. We will be more miserable in the trial in claiming I'm dropping my faith, instead lean on that truth of the fact the Holy Spirits prays for you just knowing He is doing that. This issue is so much more huge in the spiritual realm than it looks on the surface. Sometimes we are incapacitated in a trial but we can look up to Jesus even saying nothing. Just that act is an act of faith. But He is working in our lives. What I say in my trials is " I don't know what you're doing Lord but I know you're doing it." Rebuke the enemy and reaffirm your loyalty to Jesus Christ, you may find the trial goes away and suddenly you are liberated. It's happened to me.

Not exactly what I was asking. That is what to do. I was asking what happens when you fail the test/trial?

I think the trials will continue until you are faithful. If you there is something bad you are still holding onto (let's say unchristian relationship, not a marriage) got will allow difficult trials until you earn your lesson. If you do not, He will put another trial in your life...and He will discipline you also, because He is a loving Father. Look at the disciples...how many trials they had to go through until they were faithful to Jesus.

Trials are good. If you are sinning/keeping hold on to something you shouldn't/your faith is not depending on Christ, God will send trails/difficulties to discipline you/shape you into a Christian you ought to be.

If you keep sinning, God does not discipline you and you do not repent, you were never saved.

It is therefore good that God sends trials, so we can see where our faith stands. And if you fail, then there is still time to ask God to touch your heart and build your faith.

When you're on the edge, just know that there are other people out here who empathize with you and have the ability to understand that you're still trying to process your pain and loss.

I'm sure The Lord knows what you're feeling and He'll still be here for you day after day even if, "today," you are experiencing a time of weakness and discouragement.

Also, it might be better not to ask other Christians about what you should do when they aren't aware of all that you've had to contend with this past year ...

Jesus Christ of Nazareth never said it was easy to follow Him. He said many will fall away because they do not Love Him. Do you Love Him?

May God Bless You. If you cannot keep the faith through trials then you cannot receive the rewards from God (Revelation chapter 2 to chapter 3). You are moving backward instead of forward. If you were supposed to receive the reward after 2 years for example then more years will be added. You know the children of Israel were meant to spend 7 days in the wilderness but they spend 40 years because they failed their trials.
