What happened to MTV?

I am so disappointed in MTV. When I was younger, they showed lots of music videos. Now all it is is crappy reality TV and commercials. If you really want to see music videos you have to watch the Fuse. I'm not complaining about the Fuse; it shows more rock. But still, why did MTV go more towards the crapp that it shows now. I'm just wondering what your insight may be.

That's true. They used to play some good stuff.

I don't get that channel.

But still, why did MTV go more towards the crapp that it shows now. I'm just wondering what your insight may be.

My insight is that they eventually sold their souls to the highest bidder.

MTV2 isn't even all music videos now, they're starting to do reality shows and whatnot too.

MTV plays music videos...you just need to make sure you're awake at 2 in the morning to see them.

I enjoy watching the Real World and Road Rules. They play music videos early in the morning, 90% of which are Hip Hop

MTV2 and VH1 Classic are both great channels. If I want to see videos, I go there.

Let's look at the logic of MTV. MTV doesn't that stand for Music TV. Now wouldn't you play the actual music videos when people are awake. My dad used to have cable and like MEOMY said you have to be up at 2 in the morning just to watch the music videos, which is why I would watch a Music channel. That makes no sense to me at all. Fuse is literally music all day.

When I was in grade school they played music videos a lot more. I just watch Mtv 2 now if I want music videos, which I do not watch too often these days.

hmm...i don't care to watch music videos much. i mean once in a while, it's cool. but how many times can see you the same videos? once every few days?

they could play more videos. but i don't mind the shows being there.

I don't like MTV either.I stopped liking it when I was about seventeen. I do like the show boiling points though.

Honestly, I don't think MTV can survive with just music videos. How could they compete with VH1 if they did that? I agree that I don't watch much at all of it anymore...the only shows I do watch on MTV now are Boiling Points, and Road Rules

This might be only available on satellite or digital cable, but MTV Hits plays music videos all the time. They span from about five years ago to now.

I know, I was bagging my parents to get Cable only to wach Music Vids and now look.
I know they play vids at Vh1 but their don't pass all the vids.

MTV is okay. It's very different now. They have a few cool things but a lot of it is ****! i like MTV2, they play music from a lot of lesser-known bands. Fuse is great too, and Much Music. I watch those three all the time.

Try TVU. You can get it via Sky Angel Christian satellite. TVU plays videos, AND IT IS A CHRISTIAN MUSIC VIDEO CHANNEL. You also get Spirit, an adult contemporary video channel. Check them out skyangel.com

I only watch MTV for The Ashlee Simpson Show.

But I think I like even VH1 better than MTV.
