What happened to me!!

In a very few words

I was a shy introverted person of 15 not ready to face anyone - no religious back ground or backing and somewhat financially challenged.
I felt that I was in a prison, possibly of my own making

To cut a very long story to it's bare bones - I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and life unexpectedly changed forever !!

I became talkative and extrovert which is still the same to this day from over 50 years ago. Just on this basis alone, may God be praised

wow..thank you so much for posting this, I am a Christian I have accepted Jesus as saviour however, I am still in this 'prison' that you were delivered out of. Thank you so much for writing this, it is so on time ! Because I was feeling so low and depressed because of my condition, my introvert nature and social anxiety has basically made me an outcast/weirdo in my college class and I feel so alone and upset with God. But thank you for the hope. Please Pray for me...

 

[Learning To Stand]

Wow, was this immediate after your acceptance of The Lord? Because I seem to still to be quite stuck in my "avoid as many social situations as possible" cage. On the other hand, I won't deny that I feel God has pushed me out of that place to a noticeable degree. Even if it's only noticeable to me, and I thank Him for that.

It seems I'm going to have to be forked out the rest of they way. o~o;

The Lord's will be done I guess, ha ha. I think I need prayer over my ability to trust in what The Lord does in my life... As sad as that is.

Just to say that I publicly accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and at time was given an acceptance card (Just for me to sign and keep).

For 48 hrs I was in agony as I knew how important this desicion really was.

I signed it and felt that I had taken a leap into the unknown with only the bible and prayer to help me.

Suddenly I realised that I wasn't alone any more and I wanted to tell someone about it.

It came to a head when my Christian leader literally pushed me to my feet to tell a packed church about what I had done.

I blushed furiously but did it. When I sat down I KNEW that something had been removed, I belonged to God and I was assured of eternal life and I was free in Jesus and I haven't stopped talking since.

I would say to anyone, tell someone(another strong Christian?) about your path and that will strengthen you amazingly (keep on doing it and don't be put off by silly comments)

Brother Alan,

I can relate to that, but the change has happened more slowly for me. I think this is as a result of the Holy Spirit directly acting in your life. For me, it was also evident that self-doubt has been removed to a large extent which was a function of the devil leading you to doubt yourself. No longer do I second guess myself all the time. I listen for the 'promptings of the Holy Spirit' to guide me in social situations. I think this renewal is a spiritual gift related to what God wants from your life, and is not given to everyone.

When you take the Holy Spirit aboard, He molds you according to your calling.
