  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What happend here?

Maybe the casually dressed man had a price on his hand and fell prey to a dapper if sloppy asassin.

Sloppy? I doubt it. Surprise is a great weapon, and I'd put that man's chances of getting away initially at 95% or better (depending on his skills as an assasin, could be as much as 100%). Whether he would ultimately get away with it would depend on how smart he was about buying the gun, the cleanliness of his clothes, his connection with the victim, and so on. In other words, things that weren't said.

One - casual man is a nasty alien spy from a race bent on conquering the world. Well dressed man works for a secret agency dedicated to destroying said spies.

Two - casual man is a nasty alien spy, etc, woman works for same agency as above but shot him in the chest so they could do a better autopsy on the alien's brain.

I watch waaaaaayyyy to much TV.

I think that was supposed to be the fun of it, to put in your own extra information. :) I could be wrong, though.

I think you're probably right.

I find it interesting, though, that so many people think the first man was sloppy for doing the hit in a public place. I think it was very intelligent.

He has the element of surprise. Assuming his identity and usual whereabouts are not known to anyone there (and one would expect a hitman to live a very covert life), he is unlikely to be positively identified or found by witnesses. The public scene would greatly distort and muddy the evidence, leaving very little for police to go on. His rapid exit would get him out before the police got there.

In fact, his only weakness would seem to be the possibility that somebody there could identify him in such a way that the police could find him. And it seems to me that a large part of a hitman's job would be keeping his identity and movements very secret from everyone but those he implicitly trusts (which probably wouldn't be many people).
