Like I said before, SSBM. You can even set up a Tournament on just one console. You can set it up as 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 or whatever. Up to 64 competitors.

I still think that's the best bet. And the violence won't even be a factor because the "violence" in it is very funny often times.

It's debatable...I'd say you should follow the ESRB ratings on the games.

ESRB ratings are made by everyday people -- many being Christians. Don't immediately assume that you have the best sense of right & wrong.

They're put on games for a good reason.

says the person who doesn't believe in my God. My previous statement doesn't really aply to you. If you knew the truth, then it would.

*that sounded harsh*

*sigh* Yeah, that did sound a bit harsh. Violence in a video game, in a church seems a little wrong to me as well... yet I am also non-Christian. Kinda seems to go against Jesus' teachings and all that... but hey, this is your group and your call. Not mine.

As for a game to play... as it is in a church, I'd go with morningstar2651's advice, Mario Party. Or something funny like Dance Dance Revolution, if you have enough extroverts they'll go up in front of everyone and have a lot of fun with it. It'd offer a lot of entertainment and excercise at the same time.

Back to game ratings... All they are is a way for a parent or anyone else for that matter, to get a good idea of what to expect in that game. You have the general rating on the front, on the back it tells you why it got that rating. Example: Halo 2, it's rated M for Mature (people ages 18 and under cannot buy this without a parent/legal guardian in most stores) and it'll show the M on the front of the case. Flip it over, it'll say M again, but also the bit about blood, gore, violence, and language. Seems to me that I remember those things being prohibited anyway by the Bible, more specifically in the 10 Commandments. So you do know the stuff about right and wrong and choices... but it seems God's law already covers those aspects as well.

I'm an ex-Christian. I once knew your Truth...and unfortunately know more about the bible than most Christians I've met.

I do believe in your God. He is real. Don't assume that all non-Christians deny the Christian God.

My bad. Assumptions suck, and I apologise. All I ment to say before was that Christian ethics are to be higher than the world's, to not conform to it. I agree that the esrb rating system is there to help people, but I am called to a different rating system, the word of God.

Thanks for the game suggestion. I will check it out.

Is violence wrong in games? Violence is essentially games.

Halo 2 would be your best bet. Any blood is hardly noticable, if not, then nonexistant, for I haven't really noticed any blood at all (as opposed to the first where you could shoot corpses to spray blood everywhere). I would stick to local play, though, no online. Oh the words that those little sailors say when you shoot them. >.<;

I have to agree, as fun as DoA is, it is rather demeaning to women and boys in their teens are probably going to be playing at your little group, so the 'temptation' would be strong. Best not go the DoA route.

If you're pretty high strung about the content of games...go with racing games. No blood. No cursing. No violence (excluding car crashes). Go with mario kart double dash. Cute and fun.

DoA is not demeaning, if it is, then going to the beach is demeaning. I live 6 miles from the beach.
Each girl has different costumes, and there aren't that many bikinis. You could easily go without them.

I played Halo2, halo1, DoAU, Mortal Kombat DA as well as many other games.

I think there is a difference, a big difference. DoA is for your entertainment, the girls created are for your amusement. I am sure that you don't goto the beach to be entertaied by the girls in bikini's. It is all about the intent in your mind. DoA is obvious on what they are gearing towards.
