I am going to start up a videogames tournment fundraising event in my area soon. I am wondering what games I will pick to use. This will be open to the local churches and have them invite their friends. This is a ministry oportunity aswell, so this is to be a Godly atmosphere. I would like to use team play games like Halo2, but violence will be an issue. Sports and driving games would be cool also.

What genre should I focus on and what game in that genre should I use?

For a wholesome game that ANYONE can use I would suggest EyeToy! :) It's fun. My 2 year old love it and my mom has even done it!

I have never heard of 'eye toy', but is sounds a little young for the demographic I am aiming for. Children don't need saving. But thanks for your suggestion though.

What kind of driving games should I use, if I use?
for a racing game i would pick burnout3 or need4speed underground 1 or 2.
they are good 2 player racing/crashing/drifting/skill racing games. there are different choces. the only bad thing about need4speed is that it might take awhile to get the car you want, because u can customize it & getting ready for a race is not as fast as burnout3.:pink:

Yeah, NFSU2 would take too long to set up. I would like a game that I could link together. Actually, I wonder is PGR2 would work? Hey, thanks for the suggestion, I'll still look into it.

Super Smash Bros. Melee, anyone? That's probably one of the best tournament games out there right now. Tekken also would work well, methinks.

RTS games (Starcraft, etc) might take too much time. Mario Tennis would probably work. Maybe Timesplitters 2? Or maybe take it oldschool and do a Goldeneye tourny. Medal of Honor? Call of Duty?

All kinds of ideas. There's waaaay more than just... Halo (blech).

Sports aren't the best idea...you want things with at least 4 player capability.

That is why I think Halo2 would be a great game to start off with. 16 players and very customizable. I think 2 on 2 hockey would be fun, well, maybe thats just me. Thanks.

I don't think gamecubes link...I haven't tried with mine at least.

The only games that you can link currently are Mario Kart: Double Dash and (I think) Kirby's Air Ride (which is a mediocre game anyways, so I wouldn't reccomend it).
