Is it really a straw-man?*ignoring the fact that GG supporters had received death threats as well*
Nice straw-man btw.
Considering that you literally putting words in my mouth, when I merely point out that its discontinuous to treat Tumblr Feminists as it where the norm akin to treating Fundamental Christians as the norm, then yes it's a straw man.Is it really a straw-man?
Who's "We" here? Sorry, I had seen guilt trips before, and I am not falling for it.What do you think we should do about those tumblr feminists?
I think it's no one important to the media. If no one truly care, then the events transpire GG wouldn't exist. Since GG exist, then somebody cares. Btw I wouldn't describe people involved in it as "nobody", because there are some quite noticeable famous people involved.
You be wrong, they have created content for it before.I think it's no one important to the media.
No one need a movement for that.It was really between rape advocates and their targets.
That question isn't a trap you can "fall for" if you don't have malicious intentions.Who's "We" here? Sorry, I had seen guilt trips before, and I am not falling for it.
I've tried, but it's about as good a use of my time as going to Stormfront to listen to white supremacists. I've been to KIA and 8chan.I am going to just throw this out here:
Does anyone here against GG ever go to a GG hub(Such as subreddit KIA, also I do not consider twitter to be a Hub btw.) and talk to them and actually listen to them? Most particularly during the years 2014 when GG is at an all time high?
If so, can you PM me your conversation as the mods here don't like links that contains "nasty" words.
That's obviously not true. Lots of people cared passionately, enough so that it became well known beyond the scope of interest to actual gamers.GamerGate was basically a war between Tumblr Feminists and 4Chan. Pretty much the absolute worst elements of the internet.
No one cared,
Wow, that is, besides not true, some fairly famous people got involved, a really messed up attitude. Who are you to be calling other people, real people, "nobody"?because everyone involved in GamerGate is a nobody
Congrats for both overstating and understating the case in the self-same sentence. A commentary (e.g. Anita Sarkeesian's) is not necessarily "outrage", but it did provoke outrage and doxxing.who has far too much time on their hands, and becomes outraged over total nonsense(IE, game reviewers having sex, and video game characters who are too busty).
Sorry, but the "if you have nothing to hide..." argument has been made against privacy already and I not going to answer the question as it is clearly being made in bad faith. That question isn't a trap you can "fall for" if you don't have malicious intentions.
But did you talk to them? I am not interested with current front page morningstar as anyone can see that. What I am interested is that you talk to them during the year 2014. I did, you apparently didn't.I've tried, but it's about as good a use of my time as going to Stormfront to listen to white supremacists. I've been to KIA and 8chan.
The majority of GG identify themselves as left-wing libertarian, not far right wing totalitarian. The article didn't do an honest research."...Gamergate really only made sense in one way: as an exemplar of what Umberto Eco called “eternal fascism”
Yes, I did. They targeted people I know, stalked them online, and sent them death threats. I had to cut people I knew out of my life because I got tired of the verbal abuse they were sending my way.But did you talk to them? I am not interested with current front page morningstar as anyone can see that. What I am interested is that you talk to them during the year 2014. I did, you apparently didn't.
Are you serious?Indeed, those uppity women, minorities, and progressives sure got what they deserved, didn't they?
Video Gamers Are Having A Bizarre Debate Over Whether Sending Death Threats To Women Is A Serious Issue
This doesn't really justify any threats that came there way (most of which were from anonymous twitter agitators), but the main voices against GG, almost none of them were actually developers. They were all mostly small-time mobile devs, if anything, or 'culture critics', or (a term I've coined) 'ideological developers' where their main motive for getting into video game development was solely as a platform to advertise their political viewpoints. Those terrible feminists. Aren't they just the worst people on the internet?
Maybe you didn't care, but you don't work in the game industry. You didn't receive death threats or have friends or co-workers that received death threats.
Have you ever been afraid that someone might murder you because they don't like the work you do or because they disagree with you politically?
Okay, I'm going to play Tu Quoque, albeit, with a difference.Yes, I did. They targeted people I know, stalked them online, and sent them death threats. I had to cut people I knew out of my life because I got tired of the verbal abuse they were sending my way.
Have you gone to Stormfront to have a friendly chat with some white supremacists yet?
What death threats?*While ignoring the death threats that GG supporters has gotten*
