how is that?

It's an awesome game. I got it for Xbox when it first came out and liked it but didn't get far since I don't like shooters on consoles. The only gripe I've heard about the game is that it's way too short if you don't do all the side missions and it's really easy to just follow the main story and miss them.

It's basically Max Payne/GTA:SA in the Old West and is very gritty. It has some bad language and situations but then it wouldn't be a realistic Western if it didn't and the language is more Old West salty than really vulgar. The voice acting is top notch with Thomas Jane, Lance Henrikson, Kris Kristofferson, Ron Perlman, Brad Dourif, Tom Skerritt and others. Character models move naturally too, especially in the cutscenes where they use motion capture from actual actors.

Oblivion for me. I expect to be absorbed in it for at least the next few weeks before I start trickling back to flight sims.

At the moment I've got about 30 hrs of play in, and I think I've just scratched the surface of the main quest, besides the fact that for the moment I've ignoring it and working on my own stuff (mainly for the fighter's guild).

For some reason, it slows down what your processor will do for the game, and the current version of the program tops out as a 486. That means that if you want to run a DOS game which required a Pentium, you're out of luck until they write the program correctly.

Many older games have problems running on even semi-modern hardware. One that I'm familiar with, for example - Jane's Longbow 2, a flight sim that came out in the '96-97 time frame (and still the best helo sim ever). If you run it on anything faster than 700mhz or so, things start getting nutty, like your targetting displays jump around so that they're unuseable, and your rockets don't hit where the sight indicates that they will.

I liked the story of KoToR 1 better than 2 but I liked the gameplay of 2 better. Plus I didnt understand how 2 ties into 1 or how you start out on the ebonhawk [SPOILER ABOUT KOTOR 1 (highlight)] since your character turns out to be Revanin Kotor 1, yet if you talk to people in 2 they say that Revan left to the far reaches of the galaxy after the defeat of Malak...???XxXxX

The canon storyline is that Revan found some "greater threat" beyond the Outer Rim when he was out there during the Mandalorian Wars (supposedly it's the true Sith or something like that, but I don't think it says for sure). One theory is that Revan first turned to the dark side because he thought that the only way he could get a force powerful enough to protect the Republic was through the dark side. So then after Revan returns to the light side, defeats Malak and destroys the Star Forge, he heads out to confront this threat on his own and is never heard from again.

I don't think that there are really any *direct* connections between the plots of the two.... of course your character in KOTOR2 is the general who fought with Revan, and commanded his forces at the final battle of the Mandalorian Wars - Malachor V. There are some other minor things, ie you visit Telos in KOTOR2, which was the home planet of Carth Onasi in KOTOR1, and the quest in the first game about Carth's son, and of course revisiting the Jedi enclave on Dantooine that was destroyed near the end of KOTOR1.

I recently rented Tomb Raider: Legend, but I stopped playing early in the game, because a certain puzzle wasn't working for me despite all my attempts. It wasn't fun enough to bother much.

Devil May Cry 3. I picked up the special edition a few months ago but haven't played it much recently.

I've been trying to get my hands on the new X-men game (yes, despite the horrible reviews). I really want to bamf around as Nightcrawler, and I think Iceman sounds pretty fun too.
