I am glad to hear that it is mostly under control. I hope that you continue to see improvement also.

lol true. I guess some things may not always have to be questioned. At least not more than once. I am sure I questioned my gender as a toddler and might do it once again if some medical ultrasound said I might have internal genitals hiding somewhere. lol I do question if my family loves me and I do question if the sun will come up tomorrow. I hope my family loves me and I hope the sun will come up tomorrow but hoping doesn't make it guaranteed to me. I guess it would be more to your benefit if I use some of the commonly used Christian phrases to answer those....we are not promised tomorrow- it's a cheesy reference for James 4:13-14 and then 2 Chronicles 6:30 for being unable to know the hearts of others.

Wow. Thanks for sharing that. Please tell me that you didn't go to all of that trouble to share that with me. That was a lot of work. It seems you have been through a lot and I hope the rest of your life turns out the way you are hoping it will go. Good luck with Holly. You will appreciate her more now that you have had the experience of losing her. I must admit that I am much more interested in your calling to Israel and your manner of death. I think that is only because you haven't shared it and you posted a pic of your bank card. I consider my banking information to be far more important to hide, so that makes it all the more fascinating.

What is this with the bacon pizza? Bacon is treif. lol

Thanks for sharing your experiences. It was a long read and a bit overwhelming to take in all at once. I will have to think on it for quite a while. Very profound though.

Ok. I must know.....what was the question?

It pertained to the story of Balaam and the talking donkey. I knew there was a deeper meaning, from the usage of the language "that thence he might see the utmost [part] of the people ..." and "the man having his eyes opened." I just had no idea how much the answer would reveal! Nor how much would be required to understand, prior to being able to understand the answer

And did you want to continue this...?

Sorry, let me see if I can re-create the context in my next post. I thought me question was clear the first time around ... you can click on the little blue arrow by a quote to go to the source post.

Ok, here we go:

My original response:
This is a very interesting statement! I'd like to see you expound on this, spelling out your understanding. (Now I'm adding, you're comparison of "those who are not" to false prophets.)

I'm touched that you took the time to read it.. I have to say you were the origional inspiration to write it down.. but i figured there were others like you who would profit from hearing it.. as for the pizza before i was a messianic i ate all foods.. and interestingly enough after reading mark 7:18-7:23 I have reverted back to it

Oh boy! I should have seen this one coming. I almost bit off my own tongue for allowing myself to post that without enough people knowing me very well yet. Guess I should clue you in to how I operate. I realize that most Christians are offended by the assumption that what they believe is somehow false. I don't really appreciate being told that I am deluded or blind either. So, knowing this, I operate under the assumption that God exists and the bible has some validity when speaking to Christians. It only seems fair and prevents any feelings that I am attempting to be insulting or acting superior. I look at this as though I am on your turf. You aren't on mine.

With that out of the way, when I discuss the bible, it isn't to directly disprove it. But since I am here talking to Christians and Christians believe the bible to be the word of God then should I not attempt to have us playing on the same field? I don't have to believe the bible is inspired by God to have an understanding of the literature between the covers.

Now... the comment I made was due to the fact that the bible claims there to be false prophets and true prophets. Based on reading the text I can tell the difference. If you have any background with reading scripture you can put most of the pieces together to make a picture. Many Christians are quick to say that you can only have an understanding of the bible if you are a Christian and the holy spirit gives you the understanding......blah blabbity blah blah. I don't agree with this and I feel that I have a pretty good understanding of a quite a large portion of it. I don't know everything and I am not a biblical scholar so I welcome people to challenge how I understand it and am willing to see it from another point of view. But I am not saying there are or were REAL prophets, but I am saying that the bible says there were and or are real prophets. Does that make more sense?

Well I won't get into the counters of those verses because they have been beaten to death on this topic. I always saw it as can and should are two different things. If a parent says you can go to a party does it mean you should go? Would they prefer you to stay safely at home so they can sleep good at night? You betcha!

This tells me that one of two things has happened.
a.) I am much more oblivious to the obvious than I thought I was

or

b.) It wasn't the divine grace of God touching my life.

Only two conclusions I see to that one without suggesting you are wrong. lol

Well now I'm going to throw a twist into this. Namely, I think you're not telling all you know. I agree you DO demonstrate a higher understanding of Scripture than any unbeliever I've ever encountered. While I haven't read everything you've posted, and you're still new here, I have yet to see you distort anything. AT ALL.

You linked false prophets to "those things that are not," which is a Scriptural passage, "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1 Cor 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence."

I had never made this connection before, and am not above learning from a professing unbeliever.

This is a most serious point. In context, you were responding to "sometimes you just know that you know that you know ..."

I'm not trying to be a smart alec here, but you said you have some OCD right? Anything that intrudes into our thought processes can cloud our perception of this sort of thing, which is described as a "still small voice." ALL of us have more than enough other things competing against G-d, that we miss it. I suspect it must be a more difficult process for you to hear.

I do think the Grace of G-d is at the very least reaching out to you. Do you have any idea how to welcome Him, to embrace Him?

I left it open as an option. Maybe I am oblivious. I am fine with that as a possibility.

Welcome him? Embrace him? Based on everything that I know. Yes. But I will refer you to Psalm 17:1. Do you know what deceitful lips are?

I have to ask you a question.. it really has nothing to do with your conversation.. why do you put G-d.. I understand you don't want to take God's name in vein.. but you understand G-d is his title and by no means his name right?

lol I don't want to read it all.. you could just sum up his answer to me if you would

I guess I thought after what you wrote, that reading one posting wasn't too much. lol

Here is my question and his answer to it. I am sure it will save him from having to explain multiple times. I would hate to think how of many times he gets asked.

As far as Torah observance, no I don't do that so I couldn't be called a Messianic Jew. I will say G-d has Blessed me with abundant understanding of the Old Testament, or rather I should say He took me to task for asking so many questions and riddled me with more than I could take in in 20 years
but I never spelled G-d like that in all that time. Only when I came here and wound up writing about Him so much, have I found the need to write it that way to keep me humbly aware of how much I don't know, and cautious about what i connect Him to. It's not perfect and neither am I, but I have found it to help."
