  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I hope this topic is OK here?

If an elderly couple decide to marry and each brings to the marriage some adult children. How does the bible suggest that how should these children inter-relate? Does the Bible infer that these children are true brothers and sisters or what?

Then as the children start to create families themselves how do the step uncles and step aunts relate to the new children, like nieces or is that step nieces? And is there any scripture that can support an answer?

ok, to me, here is the obvious one, but feel free to reject it.
Jesus was Joseph's stepson, Jesus had brothers and sisters that some doctrines dictate were Joseph's children before he married Mary. James was considered the brother of Jesus--as was Jude, so there is no step once they are together--just my 2c
