Love to me is the passion, like a fire, you feel for someone, or something. It becomes richer if shared, poignant if rejected. It is committed and long suffering if necessary.

I agree... 1 Corinthians 13 is as good a definition as you'll find.

Note that Love in the Bible is a translation of one of several Greek words.

I can't vote. In English, it can mean all the things you list. Agape type love can be demonstrated but can't really be described, but Cor 13 does a pretty good job as others have pointed out. Except in English you can't limit the word to just that.

Love is a decision (followed by committment). Plain & simple that's it, does not matter whether it's you & your child, or you and God. Unfortunately it is not always
reciprocal. But it is always a choice.

There're four different words in Greek translated "love". CS Lewis' book is good at describing these. They're:

sacrificial love
brotherly love (or love of friends for one another)
familial love (parental, brother & sister family love)
erotic love

Interestingly, Greek doesn't identify romantic love -- though in modern times this love is now combined with eroticism, the idea actually grew up in medieval history.
