I'm sure that we all have our definitions of Listen, but when reading these next passages I don't see any other possible definition for the word 'listen' but two:
1. To hear somebody
(i.e. Did you listen to that cd I gave you?)
2. To obey somebody
(i.e. My son will not listen to me.)
1 John 4:6
We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
John 18:37
"You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
