Does it mean we start to take blessings because we are joint-heirs OR continue to take blessings only by faith in Christ's perfect works of love on the cross?
From Ellicott's Bible CommentaryDoes it mean we start to take blessings because we are joint-heirs OR continue to take blessings only by faith in Christ's perfect works of love on the cross?

From Ellicott's Bible Commentary
"One characteristic of the son is that he is his father's heir. So it is with the Christian. He, too, has an inheritance--an inheritance of glory which he will share with Christ. But he must not be surprised if, before sharing the glory, he also shares the sufferings.
Suffer with him.--All who suffer for the sake of the gospel are regarded as suffering with Christ. They "drink of the cup" that He drank of (Matthew 20:22-23). (Comp. 2Corinthians 1:5; Philippians 3:10; Colossians 1:24.)
God shows no partiality. He even bestows blessings on non-Christians.
By becoming Christians though, we are made joint heirs of the kingdom alongside Christ. After the judgement, Christ will give back the authority he was given as king to our father.
We have inherited this kingdom with Christ. We reign in this kingdom right now.
1 Peter 2
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Revelation 1
To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
What is your reference to blessings about? I mean....it sounds like you're thinking that there are blessings associated being in Christ, and of course there are spiritual blessings, but were you thinking something more than that?
What do you mean by spiritual blessings?
You mean to say financial prosperity & freedom from sicknesses aren't spiritual blessings?Remission of sins, a new law, a church and scripture which instructs us and guides us in resisting the devil, taking away his power over us.
How about this....
1 John 4:7 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: "because as he is, so are we in this world."
Again, we are "already" blessed with all spiritual blessings when we accepted Christ as our Savour. What "works" must we do to receive? God ONLY requires --> ONE.
and this...
John 6:28,29 Then said they to him, "What shall we do, that we might work the "works" of God?" Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom He has sent."
You mean to say financial prosperity & freedom from sicknesses aren't spiritual blessings?
So what does Proverbs 10:22 mean? They may be blessings from God but they are not the result of being Christian. Christians get sick and the vast majority of them, apart from 'word of faith' preachers, are poor.
Paul and James taught that we should be content with what we have. There are no promises in the bible that God is going to make us rich if we say the right words.
So what does Proverbs 10:22 mean?
So where does your riches come from? From Christ's merits on the cross or your own merits?
You mean to say because we are "already" blessed with all spiritual blessings, we don't need to "take" those blessings in the physical dimension?
Everything on earth comes from God. A poor man can be rich in blessings. That word "rich" does not mean monetary wealth every time it's written. That proverb is about the difference between righteous men and wicked men.
A foolish man doesn't acknowledge that his blessings come from God.
So have you sold all your possessions & given to the poor as you seem to imply financial riches aren't spiritual blessings?
Grace makes, Faith takes... (you choose)
Matthew 9:29 “Let it be done for you according to your faith.”
If financial blessings aren't spiritual blessings why do they come from God who is a Spirit? You don't know anything about me and what I've had to sell. I value my blessings no matter what they are.
If financial blessings aren't spiritual blessings why do they come from God who is a Spirit?
Is food a spiritual blessing? Are you trying to defend the 'word of faith' doctrine?
Jesus said, 'seek first the kingdom of God.' So whatever blessings we receive are from God anyway but it's not taught that earthly treasures are the things we're to focus our desires on. Seeking wealth in and of itself is generally based on covetousness.
Romans 14:23: "for whatsoever is not of faith is sin".
Where does Bible say seeking wealth by faith is sin or covetousness or earthly?
