I understand... I just don't feel like a god who lets most everyone die is really trying hard. I don't think this "I'm trying" is congruent with a god. People try to talk to him, try to hear him, seek him and never find him and god was trying the whole time too? I mean... that doesnt sound like a god to me.
Hi,
I have been enquiring of the LORD as to the real situation regarding how many people will be saved. There is only one verse that suggests a few will be saved, and many that suggest that God is love, and would have us love others. We cant make a doctrine based upon a single verse. So I inquired of the LORD using the following method found on my website at
Random Bible Opening to Hear from God I prayed and asked God to randomly open the whole bible to one of two verses. If only a few would be saved to open the whole bible to Mathew 14:13-14 (speaking of the few), or open to 1 John 4:16 which says God is love if more would be saved. When I prayed and opened the whole bible and it opened to 1 John 4:16 the verse saying God is love. So God answered my prayer and showed me, not only a few will be saved, he is not sending most of the world to hell.
So what of the verses that suggest a few:
Mat 7:13-15 Go in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are the ones entering in through it. For narrow is the gate, and constricted is the way that leads away into life, and few are the ones finding it. But beware of the false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inside they are plundering wolves.
Note Jesus seems to be talking about the teachers of his day. i.e. Beware of False Prophets. If you read Mathew 12 Jesus is saying true teaching is to love one another. Yet he is saying most people are teaching things that lead to destruction. Few people are actually teaching what leads to life. The ones finding, and the ones entering, may well be the teachers he is referring to.
1 John 4:16 And we have known and have believed the love which God has in us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God in him.
