  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What does God want us to do with our spare time?

I think He definitely allows us time, but not too much. I think being a teenager though we can find ourselves with a lot more downtime than we need. (Like summer break) So, yes. Relax and enjoy some time to let your mind be at ease, but don't over do it.
As for the video game thing. You can glorify God with video games. There is a group called Tribe of Judah and they play video games in a Christian clan. They play together to get fellowship and witness to others sometimes too. Which doesn't seem that bad.

I was reading some gaming threads and whether it is right or not, and kept seeing the idea of "you shouldnt be gaming because it doesn't glorify God"
I know we should try our best to glorify God, but does God want us to be glorifying him 24/7 or does he allow us some down time?

Answers will be appreciated.

Time is important. For teenager especially during the summer do have a lot of time on their hands. The key is to use time wisely. There are things like learning a skill, playing games. Helping parents with cooking.
I think there must be a balance. I believe that God would want teenagers to have fun. Teenagers don't have to be reading the bible all the time. There are fun things that teenagers can find to do.
