WHAT DOES DISPENSATION REALLY MEAN ?

DISPENSATION / OIKONOMIA and OIKOS MEANS A HOUSE and NOMOS means LAW .

This is what dispensation really means and hope that I wrote them all .

#1 OSAS

#2 Saved by GRACE

#3 Not by WORKS

#4 Chosen before the foundation of the world

#5 Promised to be RESURRECTED

#6 INDWELLED by the GODHEAD

#7 WE are permanently ( in Christ )

#8 We are given the MIND OF CHRIST

#9 WE ARE JOINT HEIRS with Christ through the GOSPEL that Paul preached .

#10 And the BODY OF CHRIST will GOVERN the Universe and ANGELS .

#11 And the OIKONOMIA is not PART of the NEW COVENANT , PERIOD !!

Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

I will say that I left it to all , that my list is not complete and just wanted for all to see what OIKONOMIA really meant and and also what REWARDS we will receive at the BEMA SEAT and to PLANT and WATER as we are told by the apostle to the GENTILES .

Oikonomia means dispensation.
It also means stewardship.

If indeed you have heard of the stewardship of the grace of God which was given to me for you,
That by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I have written previously in brief,
By which, in reading it, you can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ, (Eph. 3:2-4)

It is composed two words:
The first means houshold and the seccond means administration. Let us say "law of the house."

oikonomia is about how God adminstrates His house.

God's economy is God's household adminstration.

It is all about God disptributng Himself into man.
In the realm of faith God dispenses His Spirit into man furnishing man and supplying His household of faith with Christ as everything.

Paul scolded the co-workers who deviated from teaching 'God's economy." And Paul told Timothy that we should not teach differently from how Paul taught which was mainly about God's economy - God's oikonomia.

Even as I exhorted you, when I was going into Macedonia, to remain in Ephesus in order that you might charge certain ones not to teach different things Nor to give heed to myths and unending genealogies, which produce questionings rather than God’s economy, which is in faith. (1 Tim. 3:1)

Only 2 comments .

#1 In 1 Tim 1:4 the Greek word in the KJV is TRANSLATED as EDIFYING , But the Greek text is really the Greek word OIKONOMIA , which is in FAITH ,

#2 In Luke 16:2 and 4 you will see the word OIKONOMIA is translated STEWARDSHIP or can be translated MANAGEMENT .

The Bible is about God dispensing His life and nature into man.
That is the Triune God distributing His life and nature through His Spirit into His saved people.

Paul was a steward of this operation.
We all who are Christians should also be stewards ministering Christ into people.

The economy of God can be compared to a rich household owner distributing all that the dwellers in his home need.
The dispensing to them is out from the Triune God INTO them furnishing them, equiping them, supplying them.

One good verse on this Philippians 1:19 - For I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

Christ has a bountiful and adaquate supply of HImself in the Spirit to distribute into the saints - especially to Paul here in prison.

Another good passage shows God SUPPLYING to the Galatian believers the Spirit. (Gal. 3:5)
He therefore who bountifully supplies to you the Spirit and does works of power among you, does He do it out of the works of law or out of the hearing of faith?

The Spirit through faith is bountifully SUPPLING continously Christ's life and nature into the saints.
This is God's oikonomia. And this is Paul also trying to recover the distracted Galatians back to God's economy.

Paul was a faithful steward of this dispensing of the Triune God into the churches in Galatia.

Why are men redeemed?
They are redeemed so that God may bring them back to this DISPESNING Of His life into them.

Why are they born again?
They are born again so that the life of God dispensed into them may grow "again."

Why are the sanctified?
Again they are made holy as God dispenses His holy nature into the fabric of their being.

Why are the transformed?
They are transformed for Christ to be formed in them - MORE dispensing.

Why are they built together in one Body?
This is for the circulation of this life not only vertically in love but horizontally in love as well

The outcome is not many individual seperated spiritual people.
The intention is a corporate expression of the dispensing of the Triune God into collective.

That is a corporate expression of man mingled with God, blended with God, interwoven with God, and mutually incoporated with God.

This is the plan of God from eternity past.
This is the economy of God dispensing Himself into His created, redeemed, transformed people.

Aren't you glad that you as a Christian are participating in the economy of God?
