What doctrines do we hold in common?

To me the seventh point is refreshing from the structure as they don't claim the corporate body od Adventism is the church... we all know the church is the body made up of the believers, nothing more.

They do hold views today that I disagree with 100%. The issue of the trinity, which I understand is a taboo subject on this forum for some reason, is not what I believe and I can back it up with scripture, pioneer understanding and historical account.

The pioneers rejected the Catholic view of trinity. However the pioneers weren't correct in rejecting the eternity of the Son. While EGW never used the word 'trinity', she referred to the triune Godhead and her writings support the concept of the triune Godhead.

The Godhead is scriptural, the trinity is not... to use the term trinity and try to defend it as something other than what the Catholics hold to is foolishness. They coined the phrase, therefore the doctrine is integrated with the word.

ECR, is the issue of the trinity actually taboo here? I have an interest in the subject too, but don't want to cross a line which the site moderators may have drawn.

Regards, Stewart.

Sorry, ECR, I have just read the "sticky post" with reference to the trinity issue.

"In the light of these rules, we would like to remind you all that debating the doctrine of the trinity is prohibited, and will be dealt with by moderators accordingly..."

For me that is sufficient... I will abide by it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with asking questions regarding the Trinity. I would like to think we could discuss it but not argue over the issue.
