What do you value in a friendship?

So what kinds of characteristics are important to you in friendships?

I like having friends that I can relate to, who have some similar interests to mine and who I can share my creative work with. And of course, I like seeing their creative work too! I like friends who are understanding of my beliefs and flaws and are kind people.

I've had friends before who either weren't Christian or I didn't know what they believed. We still had nice conversations and had plenty to talk about. But I couldn't talk about God with them or ask them to pray for me. It's good to now have Christian friends!

Someone to go fishing with, Sit on the tailgate of the pickup and just talk. Perhaps build a fire and roast marshmallows while listening to music.

Someone who genuinely cares about you and will be there if you need help in life... whatever help that looks like. Someone to joke with, someone you relate to more than others. Personalities that are similar or in the very least mash well. People who won't lie to you; truthful in everything even when you don't want to hear it. Someone who sticks around. Someone who believes in you, and you in them. Someone you feel like yourself around; no phonyness.

Those are ideal friendships anyway.

2. Someone who doesn't use annoying CAPS when typing to make a point
3. Someone who doesn't ever post new pics of themselves or adventures they're on
4. Someone who preferably uses the rating system to comment on posts

Someone who is humble and contented with simple things and yet be confident, expressive, positive, and cracks jokes (even if they're corny). Someone who maybe serious about life but doesn't express it too seriously (remains amusing even when they're complaining about something!)

Most of the few friends I have are like that. Really great friends to have.
