  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What do you think?

Last night, for the first time, I went to a 'listening prayer' session at the little chapel joined to our church. I was meant to be going to our fellowship group, but as they were just meeting for coffee I strongly felt this would be much better for me!

I was with 5 other people; all a lot older than me. We sat quietly whilst the leader prepared us for our prayer session - she prayed that we would be open to hear God's voice, spoke about the armour of God and various other things.

I am yearning to know God better - I prayed that the real spark in me will ignite and become a flame; I want to be in love with Him. I want to take it to the next level. Whilst doing this I had a thought come into my mind which said 'be still and know that I love you'.

I prayed various other things including one for one of the ladies whose brother passed away recently - she has his funeral today. I was only just starting to pray for her and a thought whizzed across my mind 'you are my sheep and I am your shepherd'.

Anyhow, I have just done my bible reading and it was Psalm 37:19 v7 - 'Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him'.

Now I never say be still - do you think this is a coincidence or do you think something really happened? I have to say I'm pretty amazed and have just had another prayer session in my room - with me being quiet again!!!

John 6:32-51

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." "Sir," they said, "from now on give us this bread."

Then Jesus declared,

"I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
At this the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." They said, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, 'I came down from heaven'?"

"Stop grumbling among yourselves," Jesus answered. "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.

I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."

By the sounds of it you are hearing The Living Word speak - The Word spoken in love for God, self and neighbour - is your King and Messiah in Spirit within - get to know Him well He is awesome.

As a Schizo I only trust The Living Word to teach and guide me no-one else has proven to be trust worthy in my inner world of being.

John 14:15-21

"If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.

But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."
